This from Bedford TodayI have emboldened the relevant section. No mean feet! Pupils star in BBC toe show Houghton Regis pupils really are on the same wavelength as the team from the Big Toe Radio Show, on BBC 7. Three King's Houghton Middle School students were a hit with the team when they appeared on the live two-hour programme. And the Big Toe team, based at Broadcasting House, London, were so impressed that three other pupils from the school have now been invited to join in a future show. Radio listeners have already had an opportunity to hear Year 8 pupils Amanda James, Jake Riches and Thomas Hodsden having a great time on the programme. They had a chance to interview New Zealand singing star Hayley Westenra, and turning the tables, Amanda sang to her on air.
Hayley enjoyed the youngster's singing, encouraged her to carry on training her voice, and the 18-year-old star told of how she had started her recording career when she was just 12.The pupils also took part in activities including quizzes, reading emails and talking about recent music releases. Now three lucky Year 7 pupils from King's Houghton Middle will be taking part in another Big Toe Radio Show, on Friday, October 21. 15 October 2005 ______ Roger
