Apart from "The Sound of Music" which Hayley missed out on, there are three musicals due to commence in London later this year... Hi Drew, I'm not sure why you said "Hayley missed out on"? Do you think she applied for that part? Surely not? Cheers, Dave

Earlier communications on this thread suggested that she might have been interested (see where it first started).
Since my earlier post I have noticed that Andrew Lloyd-Webber intends to use a professional singer in addition to the one chosen on TV's "Maria", so that the new girl does not have to work all shifts. Perhaps Hayley may be invited for the odd matineé.

Hi Drew,
That's a nice idea from our point of view but I think it asking a lot of Hayley for her to learn a major part just for the odd matineé.

I bet she has been singing the part in the bath since Julie Andrews first climbed a mountain.

Maybe she has but there's a lot more to it than merely singing the songs.

Here's another thought. After Hayley's performance of ABBA's SOS on 20th December 2005, do you think that she might have been invited to join the cast of Mamma Mia either for this temporary event or perhaps something more long term? See link to special Kid's Week performances: www.ticketmaster.co.uk/promo/1395I know some HWI members would like to see her more upbeat. After all, she did have a special dinner with her record company and Mamma Mia uses the same record label. Mamma's the word. (Sorry Jill.)

And then of course there is the new musical version of Dracula.
She could always play the part of Miss Westenra. (Lucy Westenra is 19 years old.)
(And Jill could play the part of Mrs Westenra.)
However, I should not wish Hayley to be eaten by a wolf and I can't image Hayley as a vampire.
And she certainly would not appreciate having a steak through the heart as she is a pesco-vegetarian.

And finally there is:
Gawsworth Hall - a Musical in Three Parts.
Script by Postscript.
Excerpts to be repeated in the London South West End on September 23rd, but without the scenery and the fairy lights.
Congratulations Peter, it was one one of those novels that you don't want to put down until you finish it (but you made us put it down each night). You kept us in suspense until the end. And we all want to relive your experience.

Following on Richard and Drew (and 'thank you' Richard for polishing off my attempt to apply thread discipline) we never mentioned who should write the music? Would she have time?!! Peter S.

Hello again everybody! I've been thinking about the venue, and I'm torn between two. Strictly speaking neither is in the West End, but they are both quite well known and eminently suitable. 1: Regent's Park Open Air Theatre This would be the perfect place to recreate the atmosphere of Gawsworth Hall, and Hayley knows the park very well. Maybe some sort of sprinkler system could be installed to ensure a light shower or two. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif2: The Globe TheatreThis is a replica of Shakespeare's old theatre at Bankside on the River Thames. Perhaps Hayley and scriptwriter Peter could arrive in style on an old Thames barge while the orchestra plays Handel's 'Water Music'. If music be the food of love, I'm getting peckish! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

I saw this when it was on Broadway, though it didn't last more than a few months. Hayley would find the role of Lucy Westenra, ahem, a departure, since it requires that she appear au naturel on stage, sing a near-blasphemous duet celebrating the joys of vampirism ("Life After Life") with Dracula, and drag a child down into a grave in anticipation of her next repast before the vampire hunters end her unlife with the stake through the heart.

Apologies Hayley and Jill.
I was not aware of this interpretation.
Let us stick to Gawsworth Hall and a sensible red dress.

Peter, What else can she do whilst she is waiting to check in for an Air New Zealand flight back home? (Apart from busking at Terminal 3!)
