Well, June 29 is some special day. It is also the birthday of Katherine Jenkins (1980) and Becky Taylor (1988). And me!!!! And on that day the world's oldest (proven) person will turn 117. She is a very elderly Dutch lady (born 1888 - exactly 100 years older than Becky). Wow that's a relief, at the age of fffmmmphhhhh, I was beginning to think that I was the World's oldest person! June 29 was also the launch date of the UK's first ever credit card... not a lot of people know that! Is there something about June 29? Oh yes! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I will be taping the game on Sky Sports on Saturday - let's hope they actually show some shots of Hayley instead of only the players and crowd! It will be great if someone can capture any NZ news reports locally as my reception of your local TV stations from the UK is a bit speckly and hissy. In fact, it's 100% speckle and hiss i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Cheers, Dave

here is something little I found. www.allblacks.com/index.cfm?layout=showLions&newsArticle=1899Stars descend on Westpac Stadium Hayley Westenra and Goldenhorse will be the headline acts in the entree to Saturday night’s crucial DHL NZ Lions Series Test in Wellington. The pre-match entertainment will commence at 6:30pm with a 'musical montage' showcasing New Zealand talent. Hayley Westenra will then perform Pokarekare Ana, before Goldenhorse let loose with their hit 'Maybe Tomorrow'. The show also includes music from the NZSO, in addition to dance and drill routines. Westenra will also perform the New Zealand national anthem, while the Lions song 'The Power of Four' will be sung by tenor Mark Burrows, who is travelling with the British and Irish Lions Male Voice Choir. Gates to the sold out test match open at 5:00pm

Hi Kcuteus, Thanks for the link. Interesting, we knew Hayley was to perform but didnt know what. 'A musical montage' , and Hayley to sing 'Pokarekare Ana' how many times this year will she get to perform this? I wonder will she sing a capella like at Hampton Court, an amazing performance considering her sore throat that day. Hey Dave if you catch this post I hope you are able to record Sky Sports tomorrow morning around 8am and hopefully they will televise some of this show before the match. Emmett

Hey Dave if you catch this post I hope you are able to record Sky Sports tomorrow morning around 8am and hopefully they will televise some of this show before the match. Emmett Thanks for the reminder guys, I did indeed record the entire match then after the result was known, I deleted it But not before copying the "good bits" (from a UK perspective) "raw" onto my PC! I will convert the files later this evening and make them available to HWI; I may also post temporary links here. They never show the pre match entertainment at such events but luckily this time, we could hear Hayley singing most of Pokarekare Ana in the background, during the pre-match discussions. It faded to adverts before the end but I will be making it available to HWI. There are a few nice shots of Hayley singing the NZ National Anthem but mostly crowd and team shots as usual. Unfortunately there was some digital clipping (i.e. distortion) on sound because the pitch microphone/amplifier volume was set too high. There really is no excuse for this and it *really* annoys me when it happens, far too often at live events. It ain't rocket science to get the audio levels right! In spite of this, you can tell that Hayley was on top form at this event - she looked and sounded great and you only have to see the result to realise how she inspired her countrymen... All Blacks 48, Lions 18 And then, Hayley has to get back to the UK in good time for next Saturday's Kenwood House concert. That is no easy trip, as I realised after hearing Charlotte Church describe it on CD-UK this morning: "The craziest thing I've ever done is that I recently flew to NZ to see my boyfriend Gavin with the Lions. I got there on Monday, stayed there for 3 days, left on Thursday, it's about 30 hours each way and I was absolutely cream-crackered when I got back." Well I've got news for Charlotte... Hayley does this all the time!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

OK, sorry this is late folks but I got distracted by 12 solid hours of Live 8 concerts before I could finish the rugby videos! There were some fantastic clips to be extracted from Live 8 - whatever the politics of it and for once, Hayley and you lot didn't get priority (shame on me, lol) Pink Floyd (as in Dark Side of the Moon) reformed, wow!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHowever... I eventually cleared out enough disk space to finish Hayley, so here it is. There's a 4.5 MB clip of her singing the NZ National Anthem and for the truly dedicated, a 3 MB clip of Hayley in the background singing most of Pokarekare Ana - with the match pundits talking over her. Shame on them! In the Anthem, sound is slightly distorted probably because the sound levels were set too high on the stadium sound system. The clips will only be available for a few days in the above links - it's my personal webspace!. Keith, Simon, I'll email you and you can obviously use them for HWI if you wish to and anyone else publishing them (or the stills) on the Web should remember to credit Hayley Westenra International as well as me, thank you! The still below is of Hayley singing the NZ Anthem

Many thanks Dave. In view of the situation, you can actually hear 'Pokarekare Ana' quite well. The NZ National Anthem sounded superb, and didn't Hayley look lovely? Oh, that voice. It really does get better and better.

Thank you for the clips Dave, and also for the lovely picture of Hayley. Hayley's voice seems to be more powerful than ever now, but still has the same distinctive sound that we all love. Shame about those blokes talking over her! Never mind, it's always good to see and hear Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard
