She only has one autobiography, right? And the other is written by someone else?

Hi Rory Yes, her autobiography published in 2007 and entitled "In Her Own Voice" was co-written with Darren Henley. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Earlier, a biography entitled "The World At Her Feet", and published in 2004, was written by Paul Little.
Cheers Martin
PS Dave, Joe or Richard - I wanted to move this post to the thread for her autobiography but couldn't find it!

If no biography or book thread exists, perhaps someone should create one. It seems like a topic worth discussing. And from the few preview pages I read, "In Her Own Voice" seems like a splendid read - I will have to purchase it in the near future. -Rory

In Her Own Voice is great, and the other one is also very interesting. There are quotes from not only Hayley herself, but also her parents, friends, and many other people she's worked with or known.

The problem with "In Her Own Voice" is it is more than 5 years old now. That's half her international career it doesn't cover, so perhaps it is time for an update or a "Volume 2". I'm not expecting one anytime soon though.

It would be splendid if Hayley recorded an audiobook version of her autobiography. That way it would really be "in her own voice" -Rory

Hello Rory! An audiobook of 'In Her Own Voice' was suggested a few years ago. Hayley and her then management (Bedlam) were quite interested at the time, but it hasn't happened yet and probably won't now. Richard

At this rate it probably would make more sense if she waited for her next autobiography to record one. I can only assume that she will eventually write another - as Martin said the existing bios are quite dated -Rory

I just read subject book. I read it because I like her type, her voice, and the type of songs she sings. The book was educational in more ways than just learning about the first 20 years of her life. Certainly, I learned that Hayley is very intelligent. I was very much impressed that Hayley could learn in just one night the the words of a foreign language well enough to sing the song, The Welsh national anthem.
Also, I learned that traveling the world giving concerts and other performances is not near as glamorous as it sounds. In fact is difficult, hard work, and requires much determination and stamina.
Although her book didn't say it, in addition to motivation, intelligence, and an outstanding voice, all of which are requirements, to be a star singer, another factor is good looks. It seems that most of the popular singers are very good looking. They may be sleazy, which I don't like or nice and innocent looking like Hayley, which I do like, but regardless they have bilateral symmetry and excellent features.
Using the bell curve as a guide, on a scale of 0 to 10 over 3/4 of the of the population are 4s, 5s, and 6s. 8 percent are 7s, less than 3 percent are 8s, 1/2 of 1 percent are 9s. 10s are 1 in 10,000. 11 is possible but that is less than 1 in 100 million. 18 year Katarina Witt when she won the gold medal in 1984 was probably an 11 but I don't know of any others unless Miss Universe.
On that basis, Hayley is probably a high 8 or in the 98 to 99 percentile and that equals beautiful.

I just read subject autobiography, written when Hayley was age 20. I believe it to be very accurate and, after reading it, I have a greater insight, into her personality, determination, and intelligence.
An example of Hayley's high intelligence was on page 6 when, after spending half the night, she about word perfect in learning the Welsh national anthem and, as she stated, Welsh is not an easy language to master.
An example of Hayley's determination was given on pages 88 & 89. She wanted Wuthering Heights to be included in the album Pure and the Decca bosses had other ideas. The 15 year old Hayley was called into a meeting with all the senior executive. Nevertheless, she did not back down so Wuthering Heights stayed on the album.
Hayley described her travels to concerts and other performances. That may sound glamorous, but the reality is that it requires so much stamina and effort. I can understand how a singer could get burned out.
