Wellington is gearing up to welcome a special guest to help commemorate Anzac Day.
Kiwi-born singer Hayley Westenra is jetting in to give a special performance at the dawn service in the capital.
Wellington RSA spokesman David Moloney says her agreement to appear has come as a great surprise.
He says she will be singing the national anthem in Maori at the National War Memorial museum in Lambton Quay and will give another performance shortly afterward at nearby Pipitea Marae.
Moloney says he is expecting Westenra to front up for the anthem at 6.15am.
