I've got a good imagination, so next time I have fish and chips I'll pretend Hayley's with me. I'll think of that song she sings on her first Universal NZ album - There's A Plaice For Us!. Hi Richard I hope you have the "plaice" to yourself! Sounds like the lucky winner will have a lovely time. Dori...fingers crossed! If I were to win this dinner with Hayley .. I Say Grace

Dinner with Hayley? Hmmmm.....I can picture it now.....soft music....quiet, intimate setting....Hayley beautifully dressed and pampered, carrying a white rose just for me. There I am, seated at the dinner table with her, and then this image passes across my mind: Making certain that the food on my fork goes into my mouth and not over my shoulder or into my ear!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI think that things would probably go well until Hayley were to ask me "So Gene, tell me a little about yourself". At that instant, I know that I would very slowly elevate my glass of wine.... give her my suave, sophisticated, refined, sexy look.... .... raise my wineglass to my lips in a rewarding, toasting motion....AND THEN SUDDENLY SHOVE THE WINEGLASS INTO MY FOREHEAD!!! "Well, there's not much to tell, Hayley", I would say, as I follow the trail of red wine dripping off of the tip of my nose and into my soup. "I'm a secret, double agent and I have nerves of steel and rock-hard composure, as evidenced by the wineglass protruding from my brain"! Hey guys....thanks, but maybe I'll play it safe and pass on the dinner for now....

Gene, Your response definitely reminds me of how nervous I would be for sure!! lol Does anyone know who the winner is?? Eric Yes Eric, as much as I would LOVE to have dinner with Hayley, I would never do so unless I could somehow assure myself that I could come off as polite, informative, respectful, funny and composed. I wouldn't have any problem with the first four. And, I wouldn't have any problem with the last item, the "composed" part, as long as I could manage to get that wine glass into my mouth about 25 times, just prior to dinner beginning. After the 25th swallow, I would truly be composed, but then the "polite, informative, respectful, funny" parts would go right down the tube! Slurred speech has a way of doing that! Should anyone discover who the winners are, please post. I think that we would all like to know....regards from the states, Gene.

Hi Gene & everyone I havn't had dinner with Hayley of course (not yet anyway) i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif but I do recognise the symptoms you describe from my first few meetings with her I made the mistake of planning ahead what I was going to say to her if the chance presented itself to have a chat. The chance usually did present itself, but I never did manage to say what I wanted to say I just went tongue tied ! Nowadays, I am able to be much more relaxed around her, which I am sure she seems to detect. Of course, Hayley was relaxed the first few times, it was me that was struggling If anyone knows anything about who won, we would all love to know i'm sure. Mark

Hayley will do the talking and I'll simply be westenwowed.

Mark, you are fortunate to be able to see Hayley from time to time. I met her only once, at Ulysses in New York, and I seriously doubt that there will ever be another such opportunity for me. I think that if any of us are able to somehow schedule a private dinner with Hayley, those individuals should consider inviting the rest of us for support. After all, this is what friends are for, right? For me, knowing that all of you guys would also be sitting at the dinner table with Hayley and I, would certainly go a long way to ensure that the wine in my wineglass makes it into my mouth and not into the hair on my head! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif It certainly would be comforting for me, knowing that dinner with Hayley would include a group of HWI personnel at the table. Should I win, you are ALL invited! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

How come they still haven't announced the winners??? The dinner is tomorrow night! Dori Well, they made me promise not to tell, but I'll be dining with Hayley in only a few minutes. Since the contest was for two people, I would like to invite one of you wonderful ladies to accompany me. Please submit a short essay (no more that 5,000 words) on why you feel that you should be selected. Transportation is of course, on your own. I'm already here at the hotel. You have five minutes to reply. Please do not keep Hayley waiting. She's already informed me that she's very hungry! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
