I direct your attention to this article linked here: www.times.co.nz/HowickandPakurangaTimes/books.htmIt ends with the writer describing Hayley as "frail looking". Frail? Gimme a break! I've met Ms Westenra several times in NYC and frail is the last thing one would ever say about her. Rather, she's fit and graceful like a ballet dancer. One does not get the slightest impression that she's weak or too thin. I highly recommend the article's writer get new glasses asap.

Frail meaning, she doesn't have the body of a classical singer, which requires a bigger bulk.

Yes. I think that comment is referring to her lack of bulk. Remember when sopranos were "big" women. So big they used to walk on stage in a single pile (as Victor Borge used to say).
Whereas, Hayley clearly shows that to be that big is unnecessary. Apart from it being very dangerous.
Keith.

Okay, point taken, but just barely. The closest to what you probably mean is definition #3 from Encarta (see below) --- still not a very nice way of describing the unmistakably sturdy singer I met in NY.
frail [ frayl ] (comparative frail·er, superlative frail·est) adjective 1. weak: in a weakened state or in bad health 2. easy to break or damage: made of weak or delicate materials and easy, or apparently easy, to break or damage 3. insubstantial: lacking any substantial foundation in fact or reality and unlikely to be realized or be successful frail hopes of success 4. morally weak: easily tempted and led into sin or wrongdoing [14th century. Via Old French fraile from Latin fragilis (see fragile).]

Hello again folks, this is just a quickie!
I can't remember the publication, but I recently saw a small article in a magazine that described Hayley as "Willowy".
According to my dictionary, that means "Slender and Graceful", a perfect description of Hayley!
Cheerio for now,
Richard Norrington

Hi Richard, Certainly far more apt than frail. If there is one thing Hayley is not, it's frail. Cheers, Keith.
