I have been making "personal" compilations of music since about ehum 72
used to be on cassettes from 7" and 12" vinyl, now it is the cd.
I had them for various moods and functions, relaxing, working, sleeping, cleaning house, driving etc. Many of the cassettes are now Blowin in The Wind along roads long since traveled, but I kept the index cards with the intention of re recording them.
I can see my whole life in those tracklists, They bring back faces and places, The good, the bad and the ugly, I don't even need to hear the songs, I just need to see the title written...
Funny, the mind remembers the songs without the crackle and hiss, the wow and flutter and all the distortion that was on those old recordings, The brain seems to contain a real HiFi recorder..
I couldn't even start the list here....it would take the rest of my life....maybe

When you are happy: Ludwig Van Beethovven's 9th synphony, with the Ode to Joy as the euphoric climax (preferently my beloved recording from 1954... Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra of London and the Lucerne Festival choir(
When you are lonely: Maná featuring Juan Luis Guerra "Bendita tu luz"
When you are angry: Bryan Adams' "Summer of 69"
When you are stressed: Clannad's "Theme from Harry's game"
Christas song: Hayley's "The little road to Bettlehem" and "Peace shall come"
And, I'll add some new categories, use them if you want to.
When you are in a spiritual mod: Johann Sebastian Bach's "Air from the Suite nº 3"
When you are in a romantic mood: Bryan Adams' "Everything I do"
When you are melancholic: Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting"
Your love song: Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting" again
When you go to sleep: "El noi de la mare" (sung so many times by my mom as a lullaby in the past)
When you are down: The Beatles' "Let it be"
Dance party song: Cascada's "Everytime we touch"
When you travel: "The last of the Mohicans theme"

To me it is much more simple.
When I'm not listening to Hayley, something by Hayley.
When I am listening to Hayley, I need nothing else.
Are there any other times?

Martin, lol, I was wondering when someone would say something like this! Nice!
I lately feel a little like this too, but my discovering of Hayley is too recent and ad not enough experiences to associate with her songs to say they are my "Life themes"...
And, Hayley is my number one, but I just love music itself too much to say "Hayley and nothing else".
