Hello everyone, and especially... Northern Lights! I've been entranced by a BBC programme that I recorded a few weeks ago called "Joanna Lumley in the Land of the Northern Lights" (from N. Norway). Some of you may have seen it and it was repeated on BBC HD yesterday... I hadn't seen it in high definition before and it looked even better! Well Joanna did in the end fulfil her dream (and many other people's too) of seeing the Northern Lights in all their glory and I thought I'd post a short clip from the programme, in as high quality as I could manage at a sensible file size. So it's a 20 MB file for only 1m 13s of video and .avi (XVID), which most people interested should be able to play (you can get VLC Media Player if it won't play). Most people will have to download it before it will play - or wait a while. Some older computers may struggle to play it because of the large frame size of 1024x576. Screenshot from a longer version than below The Northern Lights clipCheers, Dave who once saw them from... Southern England!

Hi Dave! Thanks so much for sharing this clip with us. I loved seeing this I've seen the Northern Lights a few times in my life - one of which was from my front yard. We thought it was the streetlights reflecting on the snow, but when we went into our backyard we realized it was the Northern Lights and they were red!! I've also seen them a couple times in Michigan and even got to see them "dance" a bit. It is sure an amazing sight to see <3 Caitlin

Hi Light,
At least you have computers. Back when I was in the Navy we used signal flags. Just kidding. Good to hear from you. Keep in touch.
