Way Back into Love, from Music and Lyrics
For some reason (okay, Hugh Grant ) I love this movie, and I think Hayley could do an amazing cover of this song as a solo. It would really make my day

Learn to be lonely from Phantom of the Opera
So Minnie Driver and Andrea Ross have both sung this, but with all due respect I don't think the song has been done justice yet. It has so much potential and would sound great in Hayley's voice

Reflections from Mulan
Seeing as Hayley's already done the soundtrack for the second movie I think she could do this song very well. Lea Salonga's version was great but the Christian Aguilera one... so not my cup of tea.

Greensleeves - by darling Henry VIII
Okay I'm obsessed with Henry (just wrote a 10 page history paper on him) and I think it is perfect for Hayley's pure sound, because it's classical but not opera. A happy middle place

Carrickfurgus
Hayley does so well on celtic things and I think her rendition could be so beautiful, especially with piano and expressive violin

Habanera
I feel crazy for suggesting this but actually I would like to hear it in her voice. I know she's not a mezzo and all that, but for some bizarre reason I just want to hear Hayley sing this! (feel free to call me crazy)

Something happened to my heart - Ronnie and Julie
Kinda a sappy love song, but it would be so fun for Hayley to do this. This movie is one of my favorite's of all time and I'd love a crossover spin on this theme song

Only Hope or.and Cry - A walk to Remember
Two gorgeous songs, but honestly Mandy Moore just isn't my favorite singer. Either song would suit Hayley fabulously and they could finally be done right

I Will Be - Lila McCann
I love Lila but this is a gem of a song that again just to me hasn't reached it's full potential. It could be a real popular ballad in the crossover genre though if Hayley did a spin on it

Gone - Holly Stell
Another great vehicle for Hayley and not yet oversung by every other female crossover performer.

Fade to Blue - Leann Rimes
I don't know why I keep coming back to country songs, but this song is so beautiful, it could have been written for Hayley

and to finish off "All Love Can Be" and "Angel" both of which Hayley could really do something with. well that's it. I'm off...

I this post is kind of old but here are some songs I would like her to do sometime, I think most of you would not know alot of these songs. I think Hayley needs to be a little more dareing with what she sings.

OK This is another request for a cover, but purely as I'd love to hear Hayley sing it in her own way;

NZ Māori song: Tarakihi (I've heard Elizabeth Marvelly's version and I like it)

I'd also love for hear Talk To Me on the new album, I love the new song. I hope that they don't do what they did with the RoD Album version of Songbird. I don't like the long into, I prefer the HWI recording from iTunes Live (despite the inevitable lower quality as it's not a studio recording). I think that a live concert CD would prove a hit with the fans

Carrickfurgus is pretty much the same thing as The Water is Wide. Actually, that is what it is! Hayley's version is her own!

I agree with Irish-Hayley fan about My Lagan Love. I've put that on my lists before on the other threads like this.

Carrickfergus is just superficially similar to The Water is Wide. It has its own distinctive melody and some uniquely evocative lyrics which totally set it apart from TWIW in emotional tone. Let's also recognise that Carrickfergus has a cherished place in the Great Celtic Songbook and is never confused with TWIW by anyone familiar with both. I was highly impressed with Celtic Woman Órla's tear-jerking rendition of Carrickfergus at Slane Castle. I don't know that Hayley could pull it off to that same level of emotional displacement, but I think she could put a nice spin on it that would soothe us all!

It's similar enough. The words are almost the same.

Habanera is just the thing to keep people calling her an opera singer and comparing her to other singers with more "vibrato". Hayley's voice is much prettier, but she is no prima donna. I do not really like this song. It's not a very pleasant one. I much prefer her to sing beautiful songs, and I don't consider this to be one. Besides, it's way overdone!

Reflections - she'll be compared to Christina Aguilera. We'll think she is better, but there will be many people who will be attached to the original version. I see a lot of this with May it Be.

Oh, Celtic Woman, I just noticed, we both put Only Hope from A Walk To Remember on our lists.
Mandy Moore is better known for singing it, but she is not the original singer. The band Switchfoot wrote it and sang it first, although it's much nicer with a lady singing.

Some of the words are almost the same. But at the end of the day, one song is a dreamy/weepy tune with castles and mountains, the other a serene ballad about love and the expansiveness of water.

Point is: no need to dismiss a worthy song like Carrickfergus for Hayley simply because of some lyrical overlap with a previous song. Hmm, if I'm not mistaken she's recorded three Ave Marias (talk about redundancy!).

Hello all!

I´m a "new" Swedish fan here (although have been reading as a guest for a while and a fan for quite some time). Forgive me if my English is not quite what it should be.

I love Celtic music and really love Hayleys more "folksy" songs. I think she could find a lot of good stuff in the The Corrs (another favourite of mine) back catalog actually. Folksy and modern at the same time and they haven´t been "done to death". Her voice is quite different from Andrea Corr as well so they would not be very "comparable" either.

I would love to hear her sing Runaway!

And Ailinn, I think "Runaway" would sound brilliant if Hayley sang it. I've always liked that song. In fact I once heard it sung bu a 14 year old girl on a TV talent show, and though she sounded better than Andrea,so I'm sure it could be done.

You have a point there. Don't forget, there are also 2 different recordings of Bach/Gounod, plus the different version she did on her DVD. They are slightly different tunes, at least, and I'm pretty sure the words are different, too.
I am very glad that she did make a new recording of Bach/Gounod. It is so perfectly beautiful! Before, I didn't really like that version very much. Now, I love it, Hayley's version, anyway.
