Hi Simba, It's on Youtube because someone copied it from HWI and uploaded it without asking. If people would post in here when they see a video on HWI that they like and would like to see on Youtube, I'd probably do it myself (but there are too many to just do them all). Have you tried downloading the missing plugin, if it suggests one? If you (or anyone) has ideas for how we can better present these old (or new!) HWI videos, feel free to suggest things (and videos). Sorry, I meant to say, Why ISN'T that video on youtube....(uploaded by hwvid) Oh Please put that video up on youtube then, I'm sure many would be delighted to watch that, as I and Jillian were And, as for the archive, no it doesn't mention what plugin to download, and why not simply embed youtube videos (as you're doing now, very well that too , but as you said there are too many videos, and I guess many videos that I'd love to see, haha. I'll figure out something about the plugin, maybe it's because it's google chrome, hmm...

Oh, why isn't it... makes more sense now! Well Youtube didn't even exist when we uploaded these old videos, and there are dozens of them! They were done as Windows Media, which I understand about 10% of people can't view, (mainly Mac people) but that's all that was practicable back in 2003/4/5. This one I was looking at it myself (on HWI) recently and thought it would be a good one for us to have as a highlight on our Youtube or a new section of the new website, so I'll see what I can do. Meanwhile, if anyone has any other videos they'd like to see copied from the archives and re-done on the new website or our youtube, let me know. Dave

Hi Dave, Hi Dave, I just typed out the below and then realised it was exactly the same thing as you suggested above! ha ha ha Good minds think alike, hey? I was just thinking that it might be good every now and then to choose a video from the archives and link to it on here, on the front page of the main site and on our facebook page. Sort of creating a 'feature video'. Would be a good way to slowly transfer the old material and also increase traffic to the main site by creating a sort of periodic 'event' of new (old) material? Just a thought. Cheers, Jillian

Thanks, Jillian. I can't wait for these WMV files to make their way to YouTube so more of us can enjoy them.

Wow- thats an amazing amount of promo, and loadsof stuff I have never seen before- why havn't her other albums been promoted in the same way? I know pure was the first international one, but still it would help if her others got as much exposure!

Thanks for your comments everyone, especially Simba for starting off the current discussion and Jillian for going through and coming up with some great suggestions! Thanks, Jillian. I can't wait for these WMV files to make their way to YouTube so more of us can enjoy them. OK Steve, point taken (and I know you've made it before) so yes, I'll make a start on this very soon. I just need to firm up now, on the best way to achieve it. Don't forget, especially for everyone who can play Windows Media files, there is a fairly comprehensive Index to the HWI Archives linked by a Main Menu button on the website (same link as Jillian posted above). Nearly all of the old stuff is still available (not only videos). Cheers, Dave

Hi everyone, We have just established new daily, weekly and monthly records for the highest number Youtube views of our channel videos (5,179 yesterday, over 25,000 in 7 days) thanks of course to Paradiso and World in Union. With over 1,100 Youtube views from the UK alone yesterday, we have demolished our previous record of 800 (UK) in one day. The new HWI website has also had its highest daily weekly and monthly visits, unique visitors and page views since we re-launched it last year. I am sure that between us all, we are continuing to help spread the Hayley word! Dave PS I will get to the video thing as above in the thread, when things are a bit quieter.

Wow Dave, that is fantastic.
And I'm seeing it everywhere. Every every Hayley related website is currently getting record hits. That includes hayleyonline.net and my own YouTube channel.
The publicity is working. It needs to be kept going though!

Hi Dave & All In my opinion I believe this increased YouTube activity is almost entirely down to the Rugby World Cup connection rather than Paradiso. Out of the millions of viewers watching the competition on ITV and in particular the programme opening, there is inevitably going to be a small percentage curious enough to want to hear more of Hayley. And what better way than on YouTube/HWI. Martin

Hi Martin, I think it's both. There was a fairly steady increase in both Youtube and website views and visitors, from early July to the end of August (Paradiso UK release date) by which time the new website reached its record highs, that has been maintained into September as a plateau. The Youtube channel showed a further boost at the start of the Rugby World Cup, which took it to record levels (beating the annual Christmas peaks we always see). I am hoping that the high interest in World In Union will be maintained throughout the Rugby World Cup and that it will slowly filter through to Paradiso, slowing its currently rapid rate of descent down the charts. But we shall see... Cheers, Dave
