Wow, no posts in this thread for three months! Well just in case none of us was going, and especially because I enjoyed Sunday Night at the London Palladium so much, I made a last second decision (4pm on the day!) to book one of the last few remaining tickets and to make the two hour drive from home. 80 miles right through the rush hour! [That's how I responded to turning up at Oxford. Interesting you had a seat, did you telephone because the message I got when I looked ahead before making my Oxford decision was that nothing was available. As it now turns out it was as well I made Oxford!]
Well I arrived with 5 minutes to spare, collected my ticket and headed up what seemed like several hundred steps to the top and back.. of the theatre. Up in the Gods, as they say, 3 rows from the back wall and about as close to the ceiling. The view of the stage was distant of course... it seemed like 100 yards away. But otherwise, it was clear of obstructions... and heads - although it wouldn't have done much to help Steve's portrait photography if he'd been there! [Now that's where opera glasses come in handy. I had them with me for the Palladium but did not need them.]During the concert we learned that Hayley visited the pier before the concert for fish and chips [Now she really is feeling at home here! Did she have the whole experience, vinegar, salt and The Daily Mirror ].... Cheers, Dave Peter S.

In the london Palladium thread, Did anybody capture the moment when Jonathan carried Hayley off the stage? That would be a major scoop. Hi Richard and everyone, Not in London and not at high quality (I was at the back of the top balcony + the usual problems with low light and moving targets). However, in Eastbourne, with dialogue similar to my photo captions and some very amused support musicians, I captured a short photo sequence starting at the end of one of their duets together... Fun and Games (5 photos) Jonathan: "It's MY solo now... it's definitely MY turn!" Hayley: "Awww... but I'm enjoying it SO much! Oh, PLEASE???" Jonathan: "I'm really sorry to have to do this..." Hayley [shrieks!] Jonathan marches off carrying Hayley, much to the amusement of the backing musicians Hayley: "Tenors! Typical!!!" Disappearing into the darkess, a final yell from Hayley: "TENORS!!!" - and Jonathan soon returns to the stage, alone. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave & Graham, If I've been busting with curiosity about anything in the Valentines Tour its about this little piece of theatre. FABULOUS !!!!!Very nicely "carried out" Jonathan. Hayley did not lose any dignity. Graeme i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Hi Dave, Paddy, Richard etc.
I popped in for a quick close but had to log-in to post a quick across threads comment (to save posts).
Well done Dave for an excellent sequence of shots on the fireman's lift. Done with superb elegance as we expect of 'our girl'. Do you remember that shot when she was partying and somone picked her up forwards? In the 'heat' of the fun she still had the awareness of elegance and held her dress in towards her!
Paddy, you got my point precisely. May I suggest to all our photographers a little inhouse scene or two would not go amiss--but then that's up to our Mods to comment?

Copied over from Jonathan's OS
Right here goes......
As I had earlier said in my 'tweet' Jonathan & Hayley arrived about 3.15pm, signed a few things quickly but had to rush in for BBC SE interview but, as ever, were more than obliging and apologetic for having to rush.
Having been & eaten and a bit of retail therapy we returned th The Congress Theatre and my 1st impressions was that it was pretty dire and a bit shabby. Looked like something out of the 70's with the wood panelling and polystyrene tiles on the balconies!
Seats were gently tiered and Christine & I were in Row H so had a perfect view. The audience really were a lot older than previous audiences but I was reliably informed by Chris that Eastbourne is like a Retirement town.
Personally, I wasn't impressed with the sound quality in the 1st half. Might just have been me but it didn't sound right but maybe I had been spoiled withThe Palladium acoustics on Sunday? The stage was bare and again, I thought lacked atmosphere. However, Jonathan & Hayley performed on another level yet again and were both outstanding. They both commented on the reception they were receiving throughout the show and were mightily impressed and so was I. The audience really were very warm & welcoming.
Standing ovation all round at the end and again, they were both touched. Raven had lots of friends and family in the audience, as one of the girls was localish. Lots of response from the audience when she said it was lovely to be back in the South East again - what she meant was the SE COAST!!
Managed to have a quick chat with Brian & Granddad in the interval. Pauline was Nan sitting so was unable to be there. Granddad was obviously enjoying the show immensley.
The usual jaunt round to the stage door ensued and got chatting again to Roger, Gordon & Dave who really are lovely guys and very welcoming to us JA fans and so happy & willing to share their special moments with us and it's lovely to hear Roger say such lovely things about Jonathan, as before the Palladium he had not heard Jonathan sing and was reserving judgement (I believe were his words - correct me if I am wrong!)
Had a lovely chat with guitarist, Andy, who is charm personified!! A totally lovely chap and was quite happy to autograph a program for me and wanted pictures taken complete with his bottle of beer in hand. He also informed me that he would be posting up videos of the Palladium performances as he was allowed to do so. Perhaps he owns the rights or something? I don't know.
After a while, Tim was sat in the van waiting for the others and was having a relax. I gave Andy my program and asked him if he would give it to him to sign. Well I was so suprised when he came out with said program in hand for a chat. I apologised for disturbing him but he was more than happy to come out and chat. What a lovely chat we had too. Wanted to know who I was mainly there to see etc. and that it was my 4th out of 5 concerts and he was quite amazed when I told him that some people had done more than I! Whilst we were chatting he was saying what a lovely bloke Jonathan is, talented, professional, friendly, genuine etc. and that it had been an absolute pleasure working with him and was sad to see the tour come to an end! Of course, I didn't disagree and we must have seemed like the mutual Jonathan Appreciation Society! It was so nice for him to come out and chat for that long and he predicts that Jonathan wil go a lot further in his career. He said he has worked with a lot of musical stars over his time in the industry but he had to be one of the nicest and most genuine! I was in heaven to hear all of that! I could have chatted for ages to him but then JA & HW came out and I was on a mission for a friend so sadly had to, politely, end our chat, and he understood totally!
With pictures taken and signing done it was time for them to dash back to London - not before they had both made sure everyone was happy.
Then the 'Time to say Goodbye' came, and we said our farewells. Lovely to see Christine & Colin again and have time for a giggle and chat, as well as Suz & Shelley and all the others.
Also huge thanks to Christine for the lift, yet again. All I can say is. 'Roll on Friday!'
(Tim did mention that they are hoping to DO something special on Friday as it's the last show. They hadn't decided what, as of last night, so fingers crossed!!)

Hi Chelle Thank ypu for your lovely report from this concert. I wonder what the "something special" on Friday might be? I have an idea it may be a duet they haven't yet done on the tour This has been an amazing experience for both groups of fans I think and something they have to repeat. It is amazing how we have all 'clicked' these past weeks. Best wishes Grant

Fantastic, Dave! Great 'presence of mind' to be ready to capture the episode. I don't think anyone photographed the 'Punch and Judy Show' in Bradford. In Oxford, I (mistakenly) thought Hayley said, 'Tennis!' (a polite way of swearing?), as she stormed off the stage. Thank you! Paddy
