A long time ago, I went to a local hotel demo of the biggest JBL home speakers of those days, they blew my mind and I've been hooked on big speakers ever since (none of them ever JBLs though!). One of the tracks they played LOUD was Rock On by David Essex, impressive was that. Mind you, a different Rock On by Milli on the Beat goes even lower! In fact, I'm going to play them both right now, on my B&W floorstanders (Bowers and Wilkins, Paige ), oh the memories! With a great intro Rock On By David Essex Another song with a great bassline intro Rock me gently by Andy Kim Here's one to knock the dust of your bass drivers Blue Monday by New Order 12 inch vinyl version My love affair with loud and very loud loudspeakers has continued all through my life, a bit like Cliff Richard, Wired for sound. Bose JBL EV Celestion Pioneer Yamaha Goodmans Kef but the JBL always impressed, HMV had them in a lot of their retail spaces, the good quality sound kept the customer in the shop browsing. Might as well throw in The Milly, sounding a little bit like early Kraftwerk

On the subject of LOUD SPEAKERS Innovation In Studio Loudspeaker Technology HERE is a good article by Phil Ward published in June 2019In addition I will also mention the Yamaha speaker JA 4001 worth Googling, a trapezoid shape about 21 by 14 inches also used in some Fender guitar amp combos. I had some of these (JA 4001) in the late 1970s three in each wedge shaped cabinet which was about five foot high and originally had an amplifier in the cabinet with the speakers, making them the earliest "Active" speakers I had ever come across. Being five foot high meant you couldn't carry them crosswise on the back seats of an average car, which seriously reduced their usefulness. I have a serious soft spot for Yamaha products, I love the sound of their pianos over any other worldwide brand and I find I am not alone in that. I like their motorbikes. I have several of their amplifiers and use a YAMAHA five disc DVD player for playing CDs. Phil Ward on the Yamaha NS 10 Speaker
