Thank you, milewalker: a world-class reply! But, seriously, that is an excellent definition. I think Songbird's lyrics were written by Eva Cassidy an American folky singer who died tragically young. A quick google doesn't help with where the music for it came from. Hi Stuartj, Songbird was originally written, sung and played on the piano by Christine McVie from Fleetwood Mac. Greetings from Portugal, Paulo Correia Hi Paulo, thank you. You are quite right. Eva Cassidy did sing it and one site I looked at is a bit ambiguous about who wrote it; but, as you say, it was definitely Christine McVie. Eva Cassidy, incidently, has sung such things as Danny Boy and has a repetoire not unlike Hayley's. Hayley fans may also like Eva. I see that Eva sings "A Bridge Over Troubled Water", which is one of the classics Hayley could do one day. Stuart

I think Songbird's lyrics were written by Eva Cassidy an American folky singer who died tragically young. A quick google doesn't help with where the music for it came from. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Songbird was a Fleetwood Mac song. Hayley's version sound more like that version than the Eva Cassidy's. I must admit that I still like the Fleetwood Mac version the best. On songs like this Hayley's voice sounds a little too country and I can't stand country music, though she does sing the best "country" that I've ever heard. You are quite right Jenny, it was a Fleetwood Mac song as Paulo points out. There is a type of country music I don't like, but there is also some that I think Hayley could do well. There is a point where country and folk start to meet and it's about there where I think Hayley could use some songs from. This is not to say she should leave her base, and become altogether a folk/country singer, but songs like Shenadoah and Danny Boy are essentially "folk" songs anyway. I think she is versatile enough to crossover in different directions, as it were.

Hi Stuart, download the file from this link. (Its Blake with Hayley singing 'Oh Holy Night') www.mediafire.com/?xxnqpnyfnkhHello everyone, Speaking of that computer problem, I did lose a little data including a video had of Hayley singing with Blake. I don't know where I got if from. I don't think it was from here. I also recall seeing a lot of photos of Hayley, Vittorio, and Paul Potts at Woburn somewhere on the Net. I don't think I ever downloaded them, but I can't find them again. There were what I thought were some very charming photos of Hayley and Vittorio - who seems a very pleasant chap - larking around in a friendly way; and also a photo of Hayley and Paul Potts standing side by side (they did a duet there as you will all probably remember). I'll give you the links to West Side Story stuff tomorrow, Graeme

Any word on whether the compilation will include "Where Do We Go From Here" with Blake and Hayley's song from the Michael Oldfield project? That would be great!

HI Graeme, Hope you don't mind me 'gatecrashing' you invite to Stuartj but I have just enjoyed trawling through your links. Many good photo's and I am just listening to Dave 's 30 mins soundtrack ( Thanks Dave !) Best Wishes and Thanks , Graham Thanks for telling me this Graham. I'm always overjoyed when that happens as I'm very aware how quickly "new" concerts become "old" and good Hayley audio, video or pics get buried, maybe never to be seen again. I keep watch on my mediafire account downloads numbers to check whether downloads are actually being made of my link. In the case of Blakes singing Oh Holy Night with Hayley, the download number total was 21 yesterday & 27 today. That means people are viewing the clip which is wonderful. I originally put the clip on my mediafire account as Drew's (?) clip had vanished & somebody had therefore been unable to download it. regards from an Australian Winter & enjoy all your concerts this season. All the pics, reviews etc are greatly appreciated by us not within easy distance of UK. Graeme

Could very well be, Stephany. But it's also true that Hayley's "https://i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifark Waltz" is massively popular if its mega-exposure on YouTube and its use on that network dance competition is any indication. But if Decca are still unconvinced, there's also the self-fulfilling aspect to this: How can it get sufficiently "popular" if she never performs it? I think the dance was probably performed after the songs had been decided. I was led to believe that this was not the complete list. How can we participate in the questionaire?

Thank you so much Graeme! Those are just the pictures I had in mind, including the one where Hayley and Paul are looking down almost disapprovingly. I think they are just looking at the person with the camera, but you could imagine someone had said something they didn't approve of. The video of Blake and Hayley is great too. I see that it has suddenly appeared on YouTube too. I suppose that this is not altogether a coincidence.

Hello everyone, If you've registered with Hayley's official site newsletter, you should have received the following message. There are samples including Hayley's version of Songbird!! It sounds amazing Stephany Hi Stephany, I've just noticed that I've never received this. I saw at the top of your post that you said everyone who is a member of the e-letters should get this, but I didn't. A bit of a shame, really! I was actually hoping for a different group of songs, but hey. Anything from Hayley makes us happy. Right everyone? Dori

That's strange.... I never received this e-mail newsletter either. Can it be that some names have mysteriously been erased from the mailing list?? Jeroen

At Hayley's concert in Dunstable tonight it was confirmed that Songbird will be on this album, and a duet with Jonathan Ansell.
Kind regards

Hi Colin Any idea if this duet will be a new track or simply a re-release of 'Un Giorno Per Noi'? Stephany

Hi Colin Any idea if this duet will be a new track or simply a re-release of 'Un Giorno Per Noi'? Stephany Hi Stephany No such luck, it's a bit of a teaser really. The info comes from the flyer for the autumn tour, where it confirms Pokarekare Ana, The Water is Wide and O Mio Babbino Caro as appearing on the album together with: PLUS a new recording of the Eva Cassidy classic 'Songbird' and a duet with Jonathan Ansell So it really could be either. Though if it is a new one I wonder what it will be...? I think that's for another topic Kind regards Colin
