Proudly presents:
Fiona Pears and Band
Anyone who saw Hayley Westenra at The Centre earlier this year will remember the incredible violinist, Fiona Pears, who some would say stole the show. With the electricity she generated, the thunderous applause she received, and her warm personal connection to the audience, we knew we had to get Fiona back to The Centre at Kerikeri. We’re pleased to announce that this talented and internationally acclaimed musician will be back at The Centre to perform a full concert with her great touring band. If you haven’t seen Fiona, don’t think of her as just a violinist — she is a consummate entertainer who plays to sell-out crowds all over the world.
And it gets better still. By attending this concert you will not only enjoy a fabulous night of music but you will also be supporting the good work of Hospice in our community. This comes by way of a national partnership between Hospice and ABN Amro Craigs enabling a significant portion of ticket revenue to go to Hospice Bay of Islands. It’s a win-win situation. World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is October 11th, so your support of this concert is a great way to acknowledge the wonderful work done by Hospice.
Fiona, from Christchurch but now based in London, has forged a successful career as an international soloist and recording artist which has seen her perform at many concert halls around the world as well as recording for EMI and Universal. She will be accompanied by her talented touring band, including pianist and musical director Ian Tilley, acoustic guitarist Tyson Smith, bassist Peter Fleming, and percussionist Matt Gibb. The programme will include an eclectic mix of classical, tango, gypsy and celtic, with a taste of jazz also thrown into the mix. This will be night of soul-moving music and great entertainment, so don’t miss this premium concert!
