Reading the discussion in "Sure Fire Ways..." about Hayley changing (or dropping) her surname (won't happen!) reminded me that there is another Hayley out there - this time a young folk singer called Hayley Sales from Vancouver Island in Canada, though she was born in Washington DC so I don't yet know if she's now Canadian, American... or both!
This Hayley is a folk singer-songwriter, and although she isn't of the usual genre to have a thread of her own in Other Artists, I thought it would be useful because of the name - and also because I quite like her style when I'm in the mood. She also happens to be 21 years old like "our" Hayley!
How did I come across her? Well I've been aware for several months that her debut album "Sunseed" is scheduled for release in the UK on 18th August, having previously been released in Canada last year. I don't know if it made the charts there
Anyway, it's a Universal release so who knows, if she's over here to promote its release, the two Hayley's may even meet. If they do, I hope they get on well together, or else it could be handbags at dawn!
As to how well this release might do, well it completely depends on how much if at all Universal are going to promote it and also if Radio 2 pick it up (as they might do, it's more in their line than Classical Crossover).
Sunseed is set for release in the US on September 30th. Her official website is www.hayleysales.com and it includes 5 tracks of her music as a sampler.
