I know I started a thread on web browsers in January, but I have checked out multiple boards and done a search, none of which led me to the original thread, so I'm creating a new one.
Brief recap of the original thread: I have Opera, Firefox, and Mozilla, the latter of the three I do not ever use, but Opera and Firefox are used at the same time and are currently both open. Personally, I like Opera the most, but I also use Firefox because a) it makes Opera's load easier b) it is easier to get flash for Firefox and c) on my other computer, Opera and Firefox were very VERY different and I couldn't use pdfs in opera, which was annoying.
People then posted saying which browser they used and liked: Firefox was the #1 favourite I think, and Opera and IE were tied. There might have been some Safari users too... Feel free to post your browser here!
But now for the new stuff: I'm looking for a Linux supported web browser that someone has used and reccomends. If you don't know whether it works in Linux, just post it here, I'll check it out. That would be a big help!
Right now I'm considering Flock web browser. Does anyone like/dislike it? What about Songbrid web browser and media player? It has been dubbed, 'the killer of iTunes'- I think it sounds great for anyone into downloading albums because it's cheaper!

Hi NL!
I use Opera and Firefox at work on Windows XP and I use both browsers as well at home on my Mac. I used to use Safari but I can't update that browser anymore because my Mac OS system is getting older.
I've never used Linux so far but you can download Firefox and Opera also for Linux.

I have to have them all on my machine so I can test my new websites out in them but Opera is by far my favourite. It's just miles ahead of the others. Be it on my phone, wii or laptop

Safari - and it'll stay that way because Macs don't have bugs like PCs.

Oh really? Firstly I should point out that Mac and PC refer to the hardware of which neither have bugs. As for OSX not having bugs, what do you think those monthly updates are for? Also given that pretty much every browser bar IE runs on OSX that's not a reason.

It is not PCs that have lots of bugs, it is Windows. PCs have different operating systems which don't share bugs. Linux is bug free and has different distributions with different looks. Who knows, there might even be a Hayley-themed distribution out there! (if not, I'll try to invent it) However, I see why there is a bias against PCs- Windows is WAY more common than Linux! (No offense anyone with Windows, its just that Windows does have bugs and issues) Also, may I add, Macs are now starting to be based off Linux- which is run on a PC.
Maybe I shouldn't have started typing- that's five minutes spent writing something that might not even be able to be understood!

I used to have a PC with IE and it was a nightmare! Now I have a nice Mac PowerBook with Safari and it works beautifully. End of story.

I prefer XP and Opera although Kubuntu is pretty good as well, It'd be perfect if it had more support from hardware vendors.

Kubuntu? That's what I use! Or maybe I just use Ubuntu... I forget. And I customized the computer so it doesn't say Ubuntu. Maybe I have XUbuntu- no clue! Although the Ubuntu family isn't at all browser related, it kind of fits in with the browser diversity, making it browser/operating system diversity.

I'm not confused. Should I translate? It means that I use the same distribution of Linux (ie kinda version but not quite) as daemonbyte does and I can't tell which version of it I have because I changed it to not say. And then I said that although i was a little off topic I was a little on topic because the different browsers used here is similar to the different operating systems used.
Is that better? Or worse? Maybe I shouldn't be a translator when I grow up!

I'm not confused. Should I translate? ... Is that better? Or worse? Maybe I shouldn't be a translator when I grow up! ~NL Hi NL, I'm pleased to hear that you're not confused ... but I'm still amused. Re Browsers: I've used IE7 with Windows XP for years - with no problems. I tried IE 8 (beta) for a while - with many problems. Paddy
