Hi everyone I've done a couple of brief searches on the forum but couldn't find that this had been done before, so hopefully this warrants a new thread. With Hayley's Japanese Songs album, a lot of mention has been made about the beauty of the words as much as Hayley's voice and the melodies, and it got me thinking about what my favourite lines were from Hayley's songs and wondering what other people's might be. If I can start it off with: I pray that heaven waits for everyone in the end from Heaven. It pretty well encapsulates the person I think Hayley is and the reason why I like her as an artist so much. I also love this line from Listen to the Wind: I'm not really gone I've been here all along in the way that it differs from that line previously in the song, and again shows a spirituality in Hayley beyond her years. So, what are your favourite lines from Hayley's songs? Please limit yourselves to just two or three choices to give everyone a chance to join in. Kind regards Colin

I like the line from Across the Universe of Time that goes: "I know that I'll see you again"
I also like the line from Summer Rain that goes: "I know that I'll see you again"

I love this line: "When I look back on the road that I’ve travelled down, I say grace."
I also love how Hayley changed one line of the original lyrics when she sang it at the Crystal Cathedral: From: "I say grace for my lucky stars that shine."
To: "I say grace for my loving God that shines."

Hayley changed another line for that performance as well. The original from the CD says "When my baby asks 'how was your day?' " On the Hour for Power she sings "When somebody asks...." The second change suggests that the basic reason she made these changes was simply to make the song venue appropriate - it would hardly go over well to sing about astrology and a love interest on the Hour for Power Jon

My own favourites. How about
"Believing is the start of everything to come".
In fact I like all the lyrics on the Japanese album..It is outstanding. But from elsewhere,
"Love is for ever, a circle unbroken, the seasons keep changing, it always remains"
Form Listen to the Wind.

From Pokarekare Ana: E hine e Hoki maira Kamate au I te aroha e Oh girl Come back to me I could die Of love for you I've always loved the way that part sounds, and then when I knew what it meant, it seemed especially beautiful to me. But now, it actually has true meaning for me.
