Hi Everyone,
I hope that you are all wonderful and enjoying the New Zealand spring.
It is lovely to be back in the Kiwi land. I am nearly recovered from the dreaded jet-lag and feel quite lucky to have had a few days to just enjoy family time and eat lots of Mum’s home cooking!
This year has really flown by. Lots has been going on in the UK and I have had some very cool experiences like playing at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz bar in Soho, London, doing my own concerts with a great UK band in England and Scotland and also touring around the US and performing in a feature film in the UK. The biggest and most exciting thing though has been the making of my new CD ‘Fire & Light’.
I have worked with some wonderfully talented musicians on this CD including my HOT kiwi band, the City of Prague Philharmonic with conductor Simon Lole and my fantastic golden eared producer Ian Tilley.
It is hard to believe that the work for this CD started over a year ago when I started on the orchestral arrangements. We then recorded the kiwi band in CHCH, NZ in Feb. ‘08 and then recorded the orchestra in Prague in May ‘08. After this we mixed and mastered the CD in the UK.. It has been quite an experience!!
As this CD has been by far the most dynamic and involved project I have done to date I really want to tour it as much as possible... I thought that it would be good fun to do a NZ tour over the last few months of 2008 and the first couple of months of 2009. I also get to come back to lovely New Zealand for 6 months so this is quite a treat.
Here is the flyer with all the tour dates for the 2008 leg of the tour. We will be announcing the dates for the 2009 leg soon...
