For discussion's sake, I thought I'd post about UK soprano Christina Warn, who has released a CD of classical and vocal pieces. The description from her official website reads:
"Music of the Night" is a combination of famous soprano arias: "O Mio Babbino Caro" and "Song To The Moon" merged with some famous musical theatre pieces such as "Somewhere" from "West Side Story" and "Memory" from "Cats". There is also an element of popular music which has been manipulated by Christina and performed in her own classical style, these include "My Immortal" by Evanescence and "The Prayer" originally performed by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli.
Christina expresses a range of emotions throughout the album singing the pieces with passion, grace and lyricism. "Music of the Night" features some of Christina's best-loved composers. The cross section of repertoire chosen by Christina shows her versatility as a singer but also highlights that she is an open-minded individual who is willing to try anything. The pieces are performed with true character and emotion.
"Music of the Night" was recorded at 'Mojo Sound Studios' in Torquay. Leo Brown produced and mixed the album.
Christina: "The album has been created through the use of original repertoire. I wanted to combine different genres to form a blend of songs that will be of interest to a wider audience."
