Hello Drew, That's very thoughtful of you - thank you VERY much for this wonderful video (= pure awesomeness, haha ). The fireworks near the Eiffel Tower for Bastille Day were amazing once again! Thanks again for everything, Drew! Stephany

Hi Stephany! Happy Bastille Day afterwards! Sorry, I'm too late as well. French holidays aren't common to me yet. My French teacher told me that this day was on Monday. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest wishes, Thomas

Hello All, I have hijacked this thread to talk about our Bastille Day, which we spent in Carcassonne in the southof France. Some of you may know that Carcassone is ruputed to have one of the most spectacular firework displays in the whole of France on July 14th, when they "set the city alight" What the mean by that is the medieval city, the most complete one in Europe if not the world, that stands on top of its hill. There is another, slightly younger city down below. It was a half mile walk along the river from our camp site, from where we had a spectacular display. I wanted to post something spectacular for my 500th post, and this is it! First a picture of what Carcassone looks like in daylight, from more or less where we watched the display And now for some fireworks! There are lots more where those came from if anyone is interested! An article in the local newspaper the next day said that the display was actually less spectacular than it should have been, due to "techical problems" but it looked pretty good to me. It went on for 25 minutees and I don't think I have ever seen a better siaplay. For several minutes the city did indeed look as if it was on fire! The problem was a firework exploded in its mortat, burning through a cable which resulted in around 15% of the fireworks not going off, and reduced the effectivness of the fineale by as much as 50%. Does that mean we will have to go again next year? Martin

Martin, this one appears to have a face in the center. I've cropped it below to show where it is:

Happy (belated) Bastille day and congrats on being a Maestro Martin!
Nice fireworks!

I wonder why three countries all have their largest national holiday in July.
