Hi Grant, Thanks for the photos which tell the story of Drew's roses, but hang on a minute, stop the music! Drew lives further north than me and therefore his growing-flowering season should be slightly behind mine. So how come his roses were in full bloom last Saturday when mine are still only in bud. This shot was taken just a few minutes ago (in the rain): Hayley Westenra rose What are you feeding them on, Drew? Marmite sandwiches or something? Oh well, at least my blooms stay on the stem! Roger Hi Roger and everybody else, Roger, perhaps you could try watering your 'Hayley Westenra' Roses with green tea in future? They'll bloom much quicker that way... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Oh sorry Drew... your secret's out now! Andrew

Hi All, Since I've been out working full-time I think I'm a bit behind everybody else on the Forum today... I'm in the process of downloading Drew's 'Songbird' video - I'm SO excited and can't wait to see it for the 1st time... I'll look at his 'Danny Boy' video after that! Drew, take a bow for all your hard work. Hayley and you(!) have done us all proud! Thank you very much indeed! Andrew

As has already been mentioned, Drew arrived on Saturday with a box of carefully packed Hayley Westenra Rose buttonholes. As is often the case when Hayley is alone with 'friends' she has been known to let her hair down. These last pictures from me show what happened next ....... Thank you Hayley, you really are a star! Thank you, Grant. I really enjoyed your lovely Hayley Rose vignette. I think even the rose is blushing. Thanks to Drew too for the roses. Takes a very special rose to tempt a Princess to eat it. Thanks too, Drew, for your priceless video treasures, especially 'Hine e Hine' and 'Songbird'. Roger, I hope your roses bloom very soon. Mine are blooming now but I thought they were late, due to some late frosts. You could always tease them by singing 'The Last Rose of Summer'. That should get a move on them. Time for a countdown but then I'd be 'off topic' ... in this thread! Paddy

I'm downloding both Songbird and Danny Boy as I type. I haven't watched any of them yet of course, but have read enough on here to know I will want to add them to my collection. Martin

Hi guys, Drew, Paddy and Roger in particular. You obviously managed to get yourselves sorted out, I had intended to arrange a tub for a tree to grow in but never got round to it and deeply regretting the time lost. I guess this coming autumn will be the best time for next year. Did you all get your supplies from somewhere in Reading? Lovely thought of yours Drew with providing buttonholes. I treated myself to a silver button holder, like the one Poirot wears but didn't get round to the tree!
Yes, I'm thinking of you Richard--there's an 'in' for you there!

The Rose & Hayley shots Grant !!!!
Absolutely brilliant !!!! Thank you Graeme and thank you everyone else who has said nice things about my contributions to the Glasgow thread. It is very much appreciated and makes the effort required very worthwhile. Of course, you have to remember that it's all down to one very special young lady who is quite happy to let her hair down a little when the circumstances are right, just as she did for you, Graeme, in Keri Keri Best wishes Grant

How close to the front were you, Drew? Do the videos sound so wonderful because you're picking up both Hayley's real voice and the amplification?

I'm currently entranced by 'Songbird'. It's interesting, because that song was never high in my favourites. But there's something about that video which Drew took that brings it alive for me. Now I'm in love with it -- funny how that can be.
