Sackville, New Brunswick was recently named a Cultural Capital of Canada for 2008. Canada Day in Sackville is always a fun way to celebrate all that's great about our country. We will be holding the traditional afternoon ceremonies at Bandstand Park from 1-3:30pm. As a special addition to this year's events, celebrating Sackville being named a Cultural Capital of Canada, we welcome Celtic music legends, The Cottars in the Town Square at Bridge Street at 6pm. The Cottars take the stage - they are, by many accounts, the hottest Celtic band to arise out of the rich musical landscape of Cape Breton in recent years. They play fiddle, keyboards, whistles, Irish flute, bouzouki, guitars, and bodhráns, and they stepdance. There will be entertainment, games, face painting, Canada Day Cake, BBQs, tennis, Science East is coming to town, and so much more! For a complete line-up of the days' events check out the Canada Day Flyer (.PDF document) In the event of rain, all activities will be moved to the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre.
