Well first of all I'm Saya from Mexico and I'm 21 years old. I'm new to Hayley I never heard of her until the release of the album "Hayley sings Japanese Songs" and actually I got the album for curiosity since I knew most of the original versions of the songs included in the album and mostly because I wanted to hear "Yuki no Hana" originally by Mika Nakashima in English. I didn't know what to expect but I was surprised, she has a beautiful voice and I truly enjoyed the whole album. Guess I'm a fan of Hayley now i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I'm glad I decided to take a chance and get the album. So hello to all of you and if anyone is interested in listening to some of the original versions of the songs I can share a bit with you but just for sampling

Hi Saya,
Welcome to the forum. We look forward to hearing more from you. How did you get to hear about the album over in Mexico? It has only been released in Japan, but despite that it is loved by people all over the world. When is her record company going to recognise its worldwide potential and release it more widely?
Martin

Thank you everyone for the lovely welcome I haven't had the opportunity to look at the entire forum (school things, very nasty stuff he he) but I'm planning of doing it as soon as I take a break... hopefully it won't be long Well I like all kinds of music and I have a large collection of Cd's from everywhere, I like to keep an open mind and anything people recommends me I listen. Usually I download 3-5 songs from the artist for sampling and If I like 2 or more I can say I like that artist, the next step is to buy one album and if I like the album then I buy the whole discography i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif (I buy the Cd's through Internet since most releases are National and not International). This way I have discovered my favorite artists around the world. I discovered Mika Nakashima that exact way and I fell in love with her voice and style (a mixture of blues, soul and jazz). She's the original singer of "Yuki no Hana" that was actually the very first song I heard of her and while reading information on her in a website I read about Hayley and the new album. I bought it for that one song although I knew most of the other songs and I believe she did a great job, probably her versions are the best ever made but about "Yuki no Hana" I'm not sure yet which one I like the most But see? one thing led to the other ha ha sorry I talk too much I have the video with English subtitles on youtube if you'd like to take a look Mika Nakashima - Yuki no HanaI'm not sure if this is allowed but if it's not I can delete it from the post xD

Hi Saya, I have just seen one of your posts, I must have missed the previous ones ( As you know the sites Search function is not working for recent posts )
Anyway I add my welcome now and have enjoyed reading your posts in this thread.

Hi Saya,
Thanks for the link. Tat is fascinating. On the album thread we discussed how Hayley had changes the original words of I Believe. This is another interesting comparison between the direct translation of the original words, as per the subtitles, and Hayley's version. As with I Believe, Hayley has rephrased the words to add beauty and poetry, whilst keeping to the original concept of the lyric. I think Hayley/Suzi's lyric is beautiful. I might tyy writing down those subtitles, and posting a comparison on the album thread.
