Fans travelling by car will be pleased to learn there is a car park right in front of the Pavilion, by the fountains. They will be less pleased to learn it costs £12 if you stay 4 hours or more which you will if we meet Hayley afterwards ! Free parking is available in Braidley Road alongside the town hall. (Do not use the car park inside the town hall grounds since it's closed by electric barrier at night and you'll have to wait till dawn to retrieve your vehicle!!). Braidley Road is monopolized for parking by town hall staff but if you time your arrival carefully between 4 and 5pm most of them leave at that time so you should get a free place.
From Braidley Road it's a short 5 minute walk to the Pavilion. Turn left into Bourne Avenue at the War Memorial, past the clock tower in the square (which is actually round not square!), past the bus stops in Gervis Place and round to the right into Westover Road where the Pavilion is, fronted by a fountain and a car park where you will find concert-goers grumbling about the cost of town centre parking !!
If time permits you can visit the beach but it'll probably be cold and windy. Head around the left side of the Pavilion, past the stage door (where we gather later!), through the car park and alongside the flyover and the pavement leads down and underneath it to the left where you find the pier approach and the sea. Only takes 2-3 minutes. A pleasant stroll in decent weather (50p to go on the pier!) but then I'll be strolling to the concert anyway !

We will arrive at Bournemouth the 19th afternoon, direct flight from Girona. On the 20th morning, we'll be strolling and/or shopping (depends on weather). I pretend to take some pictures to see how Bournemouth has changed in 18 years, I have very, very good memories from there. I hope we can meet most of HWI members before the concert, any idea where to meet, Jeff?

Probably outside the theatre if the weather is OK. There are plenty of places to eat but since I live close-by I'll be having tea at home before going to the concert.

Personally I like to keep a clear head before a show but if you like a drink, there's The Brasshouse at 8 Westover Road (tel.01202 589203), almost opposite the Pavilion, so close you can see it from the window. It gets a bit rowdy at weekends but should be OK on a Thursday night ! It's known to locals as "Chav Central !"

That's too bad. If I hear anything I'll let you know. It's nearly 5 years since Hayley came to Dorset. It might be as long before she comes again. If it was me I'd make sure NOTHING came up !!

I have a ticket to see her in the xmas concert so it's not all lost. Just have to settle for seeing her twice this year.

Yes it'll be just the twice for me as well. Transport problems mean I shan't be at the Barbican.

I'll be driving from Salisbury to Richmond then tubing it the rest of the way, welcome to a lift if that helps at all?

Thanks but I'm reliant on trains and they always repair the track late on Friday nights which means you end up on a bus which takes ages. Plus they're always full of drunks at that time, especially the last Friday before Xmas !

Then again, if she's still ill next week (GET WELL SOON HAYLEY!!), plan B may come into operation. (Plan B = Plan Barbican.)

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. There has not been an official signing session so far during this tour but it is not unusual for us to meet her for a few minutes provided we are prepared to wait. Because she is unwell at the moment, our chances of seeing her may be reduced and they can never be guaranteed anyway.
All I can say is, keep your eyes and ears open for any clues about when she might be leaving and try to identify any other forum members. Hayley knows some of us will be there and she will say a quick hello if she can. You are welcome to join us.

This news has been relayed by Grant in Manchester.
Andy Moore, Hayley's guitarist, has informed Grant that all concerts this week (Manchester, Cardiff and Bournemouth) are all cancelled.
