Hi All,
I just want to state in public that I have in the past been subscribing to the Classic FM e-mail newletter. On receiving the latest newsletter though, I have decided forthwith to unsubsrcibe.
I consider that the Classic FM e-mail newsletters are beginning to look like spam. At the beginning of this year, I took out a 2-year subscription to the (physical) Classic FM Magazine (which I have been receiving regularly ever since).
In my view, the magazine is good value for money. However, what is not good value is that Classic FM are spamming my inbox with offers of free copies of Classic FM Magazine - and then in the same e-mail state that the offer is only available to UK residents. I have received 2 such e-mails in just the last 3 months, inviting me to check out a free copy the Classic FM magazine - while I already have subscribed.
I find such e-mail extremely annoying. If a certain offer is only available to UK residents, at least they should take the trouble of sending it to UK e-mail addresses only. And they should also take the trouble of checking their subscription database to avoid sending e-mails offering free copies of magazines to those who have already subscribed.
If I get any further e-mail from Classic FM after my cancellation of the subscription to their e-mail newsletter, I shan't be bothered to renew my subscription to the actual magazine either.
Gerrit
PS - I am deliberately posting this on a number of forums. I for one can't be bothered to try and inform Classic FM directly. I don't want to run the risk of receiving even more SPAM from them. I hope Classic FM does notice these messages on message boards. They are (or ought to be) professionally enough to determine that if offers are only available to UK residents, certain e-mail addresses are not eligible (for instnce those with the extension .nl . They should also be professionally enough to have some routine in place that prevents offers of free copies of their magazine made to people who have subscribed already.
I am receiving a lot of spam on my e-mail address - I don't like the idea to have a trusted, professional organisation add to that spam.
