Did anybody notice that yesterday's date was very significant?

Hi everybody!

I've been in the UK for about two weeks and the thing that confuses me the most is probably the music stores' pricing policy. I went to HMV and found 'Pure' at 16£, then another HMV two streets away offered the same CD at 5£ and the Virgin Megastore nearby was selling it at 10£. But Amazon.co.uk beats them all with a £2.97 price!

How on earth are we (customers) supposed to do?
I can understand when there is a price difference between two stores of a different group but not between two stores within a same group. I just find it very confusing.

Even more confusing is when you find the same CD at full price in one section of a shop and discounted in a special offer section! Your best bet is usually Amazon, or Play.com (which doesn't charge postage). I think I'm drifting off topic here, but I certainly noticed the same thing regarding the Pure 2CD version.

What a list of PURE albums!!!
I don't know if it is a mistake, but i found in your list one Pure version with PokarekareAna, duet with Russell Watson.
I have here two different versions of Pure with both this duet on it.
The first one is PURE,special Australian edition, with bonus the Duet,
The second one is Pure,Limited edition(Exactly the same as spec.Australian edition) with Christmas Bonus cd.

I collected the data from amazon solely, so of course there could be a few versions missed. :-(

Don't know whether you have picked up this point, but the CD catalogue number is always contained within the barcode

right you are - but to my mind there are (of course only a few) exceptions, so I added the catalogue number.

Hi Karsten

There are a few perculiarities, certainly.

Japanese releases all have a UCCL number, but will usually have a standard catalogue number somewhere. Prayer's is 549-547-1.

The US also have their own system as you quote, but for Celtic Treasure, the standard catalogue number is 475-853-1

It can be quite confusing and I still don't know what the different numbers mean!

I just recieved my German Pure version.
It was on Ebay, and no one bid, so i did but i have to say, that i didn't know what version it was exactly.
Yes, 14 tracks, barcode, 28947 330028, and it is made in Germany!!!. In very good condition, a nice one for my collection!!!

I have that version too (same bar code) and I have always believed it to be the German edition. Oddly, I received it about a month before it was released in Germany which Steve Abbott said was impossible... until I showed him!
