Hello everyone, Look what I just found... www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUSuKcYk1H4Now, we know this is not her WITA recording, because her voice here is way more mature. We also know she never 'recorded' this song in a solo version. She's performed it live with Andrea Bocelli and James Doing, and she recorded a duet with Russell Watson. So where is this recording from? Surely it's not live with someone just recording it. The sound is way too clear. Unless some genius of a technician edited this to such perfection, it is really really mysterious. Any idea, anyone? Anyone? Ten bucks to the one who solves the mystery! (Kidding, you know....) Dori

HI Dori, It is not that mysterious. Hayley did record a new solo version of Time to Say Goodbye for her compilation album 'Amazing Grace: Best of Hayley Westenra' which was released in 2007 before Prayer. For your reference, this is CD Japan's page about the album: www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UCCL-1110By the way, I've seen this album in several occasions but I just couldn't let myself pay GBP 18 for a collection of songs that have been included in previous albums (except for Time to Say Goodbye). Well... About that ten bucks... We'll talk about it later i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Tin

Hi Dori, Thank you for the link to this version of Time To Say Goodbye. Now we know where it is from, I guess its appearance on YouTube is a copyright infringement! Hi Tin, Thank you for solving the mystery. I don't usually buy compilation albums which is why I didn't realise where this recording originated. I was unaware that a new version had been recorded for the 'Best Of' album. Maybe I need to buy it after all! Roger

Hello everybody! I posted about this version of 'Time To Say Goodbye' HERE. If you look closely at the YouTube page, it says it's from the Japanese album 'The Best of Hayley Westenra', so I'll move this thread to the Albums board. Richard

Hi Folks,
as far as I Know Time to say goodbye also appeared on the DJ only single that had Nada SouSou on it. This was a promotional single in China / Malaisa / Japan I think.
As shown here : Re: E Bay alerts. Items of interest « Reply #95 on Feb 28, 2008, 2:42pm »
A few of them sold on Ebay over the last 18 months or so.

Hi Graham, Comet and Everyone Quite right about the 2 Track Sampler. Problem with that is that the track info is in Japanese, so you have to know what the tracks are or play it! I am now reminded that I haven't played my "Best Of .." CD for ages so I am going to rectify that now. Best wishes Grant Edit: Just listened to this CD. Gosh! I'd forgotten about the updated version of "Time To Say Goodbye" It has to be one of my favourite Hayley songs and I wish she would perform it in concert sometime! To anyone who hasn't got this album, it's worth the price for that track alone!

Hi Grant, I know what you mean ! I have a 'favourite' Hayley track then I play one of her CD's I haven't played for a while and I change my mind again. It's a bit like Hayley's favourite album it is usually the one that is playing at that time i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Graham

Yes Graham, I have always said that my favourite Hayley song is the one I heard last. She is just so consistently brilliant.

Thank you for sharing this! Hayley sings it so much better here than she did with Andrea Bocelli. And although I enjoyed the version with Russell Watson (on youtube), I much prefer to hear her sing it by herself.
What are the other songs on the album?

Hi Libby, The only exclusive song in this album is probably a new cover of Time to Say Goodbye. The other thirteen songs can be found in Pure, Odyssey, Crystal or Prayer. The complete tracklisting is as follows: 1. Amazing Grace 2. Lascia Ch'io Pianga 3. Benedictus 4. Never Say Goodbye 5. River of Dreams 6. Wiegenlied 7. Bridal Ballad 8. May It Be 9. Dell'Amore Non Si Sa 10. Both Sides Now 11. What You Never Know 12. The Water Is Wide 13. Pokarekare Ana 14. Time to Say Goodbye If you haven't got Prayer, then Bridal Ballad maybe another reason for you to buy this album. Tin

Hi Libby, If you haven't got Prayer, then Bridal Ballad maybe another reason for you to buy this album. Tin Or Oddysey or the extended version of Pure, both of which include Bridal Ballad. At least in their UK versions. Martin
