Er.. there is something not right here.
Roger's post has been attributed to me, and his quote from my post has been attributed to Grant!
But thanks Roger, I see it just duplicates the membership level information. Which is a function of how long you have been here and how often you post. If we really wanted to be controversial, we could allow members to score other members posts, which actually happens on one forum I belong to.
Blessings
Martin

Hi Martin,
That is really odd. I noticed something else about it at the time. My post (which appears as yours) was inserted above a reply that Grant had already made. The timings of the post *appear* correct, but I had already read Grant's before I began my reply. Maybe there are a few teething problems so we won't worry about it for now. If it continues, I will report it on the ProBoards Support forum.
If anyone notices anything that doesn't seem quite right, please report it in this thread.
Thanks, Roger (aka Martin!)

Hi Roger, I noticed something odd too! The HWI webpage now appears in seconds. A welcome change from taking ages to appear or refusing to appear at all. Maybe my computer sensed the impending disaster! Paddy

Hi All, Well it's good to be back isn't it, you dont realise just how important the forum is to all of us until it is not there! I hope we don't have to go through that again for a long time, it would not be the first time a backup failed and that would have been catastrophic! As Roger said, we have a lot of catching up to do! Now where did I leave my backup tape? Steve H

Hi Roger and Martin I wondered why Martin was telling us something that we already knew and, at the same time seemed to be pretending to Roger! I also noticed something that I have never seen before but an incidence occured just before I logged off to watch some TV when Martin (the other!) and I both posted at identical times (8.10pm) Martin's was shown in the statistics as being the latest post made but, in reality, it was mine that appeared after Martin's! Best wishes Grant

Thanks Roger and Dave! Your dedication to make the forum complete once it was brought online was amazing! It was nice to see so many HWI members at our temporary "accomodation" at All Angels Int'l forum for three days. Thanks to those who either visited or even registered at AAI. Thanks also to Northern Lights, who posted a message regarding the outage on her forum for Lynn Hilary, Celtic Woman. It's so nice to be back where we belong However I did see two small issues... I utilize the "search" feature to look at the last 100 posts. It now only seems to show the posts made before the outage. Plus "view the 30 posts" only shows a few hours' of posts. I saw no mention of this on the ProBoards support forum. The other issue is the spell check feature. This is a known bug at the moment and is being worked on. Again...thanks to everyone for your dedication to "our little place" we call the HWI forum. Joe

Hello Roger and everybody! Regarding the stars. If I remember correctly, they were replaced by invisible blanks, with each member's status being shown by the coloured bar instead. Richard

Hi Richard, The coloured bar was one of Keith's inventions but I can't remember if he used it in place of the stars (which are part of the ProBoards default settings) or in addition to them. They both do the same job and perhaps our American friends will appreciate the use of the "stars and bars" (which I believe to be a nickname for the stars and stripes)! The other slight anomalies (spellchecker and search facility) will no doubt be rectified by ProPoards in due course. I am sure someone will report it even if we don't. It is as well that we are aware of it though so thanks to those of you who have mentioned them. Actually, I have just tried the Spell Check button and it seems to be working now. Roger

Paddy Unless it is my imagination the site is definitely quicker now. I have accessed it from two different locations and experience improved homepage loading and navigation times. Martin

Hi everyone I'd just like to add my thanks to Roger and Dave for all their hard work over the last few days. So too to all the Proboards staff - I work in IT myself, so I can understand what they've probably been going through. The data centre explosion seems to have coincided with my 50th post a few days ago. I dread to think what's going to happen with my 100th post Thanks once again, Roger and Dave Kind regards Colin

I also search in a similar way to you, but noticed no problems with the facilty when the forum came back on-line and they seem to be working perfectly. Best wishes Grant
