I hope there isn't already a thread on this. If there is, feel free to lock this one up. But it is rather tedious to look through the thousands of threads in this forum. What do you all think is the best Hayley interview(s)? I'm looking for a good interview that I can download to my computer and put to my Zune. That way whenever someone may ask me who Hayley Westenra is, I will have an interview right on hand for him/her to watch. I want an interview where Hayley tells how everything all started from the busking days in Christchurch right up to her present stardom. It can be an old interview from the "Pure days". I know there's a bunch of interviews here at HWI, but I haven't quite found the kind that I'm looking for. The Pure EPK is pretty close to what I want, but I can't download it.

Hi Sonata
(I don't know your name so I hope that's OK.)
There's a pretty good interview on the Live from New Zealand DVD called In Her Own Words which deals with Hayley's early career. There's input from her parents and brother and sister as well. I think it was made when she was about 17.
Kind regards
Colin

Hi Graeme Thank you for the links to the two interviews. I can't believe I've never heard the BBC Wales/Aled Jones one! I guess I might have missed quite a bit in my 'dial-up' days. Anyway, I sat quietly for half an hour and just listened to it. What a great interview. It was noticable how much more 'Kiwi' Hayley sounded back then. At one point too, where she was talking about selling CD's, she sounded just like her mum! The Frank Skinner one I have seen before, but enjoyed watching it again. I just loved Hayley's 'look' back then - the long hair and the casual jeans - suited her so well and she was just soooo gorgeous. As you said, Hayley handled Frank admirably though I am sure she would have been warned before hand. Best wishes Grant

Thank you for bringing those interviews to my attention. They were very enjoyable to watch/listen. While I was browsing through the HWI archive I came across Hayley's interview on Good Morning America. I remember watching it once, and then I couldn't find it again. I think that had Hayley's best performance of Amazing Grace. It was the only time she sang it with that really high improv-,gospel-like section in the last verse, just like it is on Pure. Whenever I hear it, it sends chills up my spine. Do any of you have the .wmv file for it? www.hayley-westenra-international.com/dhtml-pages/html-2004/radio+television/20040412_Hayley%20on%20GMA/wmv/Hayley%20GMA%204-12-04.html

Thanks. It says, "If you are on a slow modem (56k or less) it is recomended you download the file for offline viewing." However, when I click on this button it takes me to the HTML page that I pointed out in my previous post. I can't seem to locate where the downloadable .wmv file is.
