Afternoon everyone I was listening to a prgramme called "Music Review" on the BBC World Service purely by chance at the weekend, stumbled across it by it fortunate that i did. This week they were looking in particular at the rise of two young women in the classical music scene, Nicola Benedetti and Hayley Westenra. There are interviews too. You can hear it again for just a few more days by clicking the link below :: www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/wservice_aod.shtml?wservice/musicreviewThought you might be interested and i didn't see it here already Nick,

Thanks for that Nick, I did capture that from the website but the downloadable audio quality from where I am has been abysmal this afternoon - around 15 kbps - OK for voice but bad for the music clips. I'm going to try again this evening when the website should be quieter and the audio quality better. I've also captured Hayley's short interview on yesterday's Ed Stuart show (thanks for the tip, Richard!) and the audio quality there is much better so I'll email it to Keith and Simon this evening incase they want it for HWI. It's here, for a few days: www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/stewart/playlist.shtml?focuswin - about 1 hour 12 minutes into the programme (navigate to 1 hour 10 minutes to catch the start).

Hi Dave,
I captured both - though the World Service clip will never be any good for music quality. The Ed Stewart show is ineresting because if Hayley's reflections on meeting Dame Vera Lynn - who wanted to pass the baton on to her. Yet in a way, it seems that the baton has also been passed on to Katherine Jenkins.
Anyway - I intend to make the clips available soon ....

Well, seeing that you have the files ready - I'll transfer your captures to HWI.net. No need now to do double work Gerrit

Thanks for the posts -- I'm having trouble playing them however. Should I download a newer version of Windows Media Player or something else?

Hi Jasmine,
Yes. Update your Windows Media Player to the latest version. That should sort your problem out.
Keith.
