I hate the 'Wonderland' cover. I don't get it. Looking forward to the tracklist. It's clearly a "winter" album too, but I am interested in hearing how her voice has grown at least.

Hi Nicola, apparently, you 'hate' the cover right? My question is:- What scrap of difference is the 'COVER' going to make to the CD that is inside? Are you one of several on this site, who to me, judge a book, magazine, and in this case,a CD,on what is on the cover? Does that really matter? Quite honestly, does it? enjoy the CD i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRodders CH CH NZ

Er... it doesn't. I didn't say that it did.

That was a bit weird.

The cover of a CD has no relevance at all to the quality of the CD within. Having said, this, the cover may indeed make a difference as to how well an albums sells - particularly regarding an unknown singer. This is simply because assuming that the person buying the record is not visually impaired, we will see the CD before we listen to it.

At the risk of straying slightly off topic, let me give an example from my own personal experience.
There was a very young British singer who attained considerable success in the US right around the turn of the millenenum......as it happened I saw her perform several times on American television and she kind of grew on me gradually. A few months passed and I was at a record store looking for something else when the album cover of that girl caught my eye. This resulted in the initial purchase.....I suspect that I would have bought something by her sooner or later anyway - but the point of fact is that the original purchase was driven in part simply because of the cover of the CD

I have two CDs in my collection which I bought in a shop and I had no idea what they were like at all, but the covers were pretty! Both turned out to be good investments, the second is my favourite album of all time! As far as covers go, they are not really important to the music at all, but they are for marketing, and the cover is made with the audience of the music in mind, they therefore create a cover that represents the music inside - so if someone likes the cover, they are likely to like the CD. The cover for Wonderland isn't so bad - it's just the photo of her which I think is a bit off. The cover of her first album was beautiful.

I have to admit, when I'm looking for new music I do tend to buy anything that has a cool looking cover just for the heck of it, so I'd say an impressive cover goes a long way towards selling an album to the undecided.
'Wonderland' is clearly just 'Winter Wonderland' without the Winter part, and yes it's not a fantastic cover. That's one I'd walk straight past if I wasn't already a Faryl fan. Fortunately for her, she's a known name in Britain, so it won't make a huge difference.

Hi everyone, It looks like there's a new cover for 'Wonderland!' (as opposed to) I really like the new cover. It reminds me of faeries and other pretty girlish things. ~NL Edit: Faryl's Official Website has been updated to the new album's colour/cover scheme! No tracklist yet, though. All it says is that it will include 'Somewhere Far Away.'

Yes, I got the email too. And incidentally, today Faryl tweeted for the first time for several weeks to say she was in London fiming for TV. I wonder what that is about.

Oh WOW! That new cover is just incredible! I'm glad they changed it. The design is very pretty and it makes Faryl look like the pretty girl she is. I very much approve! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I must say, I think that is even prettier. I can't wait until we find the final tracklist. On her website, it also mentioned an adaption of Vivaldi's 'Winter' (called Wonderland) and a duet of O Holy Night. ~NL
