I received a newsletter from Universal Classics & Jazz a couple of days ago and was introduced to some stunning new music. Apparently they have signed a group of monks from Austria called, The Cistercian Monks Of Stift Heiligenkreuz. The short video clip in the newsletter stopped me in my tracks - it was so captivating. It's on the classics and jazz YouTube channel - www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3o3uu0IuDAAnd they've just added a longer clip which is even more impressive - www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ0BcpCauKMThis is really my first introduction to chant music - are there any other chant fans here?

I've been fascinated by Gregorian Chant for many years. It uplifts to a world beyond time and place and seems to distil centuries of spirituality and wisdom . I was surprised to see that Universal appreciates the real thing and not some modernist imitation. Paddy

Hi, Yes I have always thought there was something 'mystical' in this . Back in the Dark Ages they must have known what they were doing !
