So I am a big fan of this new group and I want to spread the word to all who LOVE great music!!!! Three Graces is signed to Universal/decca and combine a pop singer, opera singer and broadway singer... The sound when they sing together is SO powerful and lovely at the same time. They sang for the Pope event yesterday here in NY and just got off the US, Canada, Mexico tour with Paul Potts!! here are links so you can experience this new and amazing group! www.threegracesmusic.comwww.myspace.com/threegracesmusic

They sing Phil Collin's hit "Against All Odds" in a foreign language. Why? It sounds perfectly good in the language in which it was meant to be sung. Il Divo and Katherine Jenkins do this a lot too -- they take great English songs and try to make them sound somehow more romantic. I hate that.

quite interesting- I was able to guess which was the opera, the pop, and the Broadway singer correctly by just looking at a photo.

Ha, I started a new thread about these without realising one already existed. This is what I said: Has anyone heard of this trio? They are Decca's new super group. They are only in America at the moment, and I only really stumbled upon their name on Wikipedia. I was reading up on Leona's success with 'Run' where is said that classical group sang a Spanish version, so I checked them out. American-extreme-polished-production aside, I was quite happy with what I found. I'm not sure how suitable they are for Hayley Westenra fans, because I think many of you may find them a bit *too* poppy. If you want to check them out, you can go to my review on my website, where you'll find a press kit in the form of a youtube video at the bottom. nicolathinks.wordpress.com/2009/01/26/three-graces-their-debut-album/I don't think they are utterly amazing, and vocally they are nowhere near the talents of All Angels or Hayley, but I welcome their arrival, as they are clealy aiming for a pop audience to broaden their knowledge and introduce them to classical music. And their album is almost completely original material. One of my favourite things about an album!

Hi everyone,
A bit of charts background to the Three Graces, they first entered the Billboard Classical Crossover chart in March 2008 at no. 8, which was their highest position. They stayed in the chart for 28 weeks before dropping out in October; this was the only chart they have appeared in.
If they release in the UK, I wouldn't expect them to make much of an impression as the classical crossover competition is a bit too fierce at the moment. But you can never be absolutely certain about these things.

I started to write in my original review that they would have no chance over here, but it was going a bit off-topic, so I took it out.
They would have difficulty over here, because there is no particular market for them to aim at. They wouldn't qualify for the classical charts in a million years. They could aim for the Josh Groban/Celine Dion audience, but their music is still far to poppy to reach them. Young people wouldn't bother with them either. I'd be stumped if I were their manager, to be honest.
