Congratulations GRANT.
We ran parallel for so long, perhaps the first 4,000 and then I dropped out a bit and you took over the race!
I think the idea of the 1000 club is good, we don't want 'stars' just for posting, what we want is posts that count and are meaningful in the many diverse ways our members here manage. So 1,000 ratchets seems a nice way of saying, "Hi, glad you've been with us so long".

Congratulations Grant - that's some achievement! Thanks for all 8000, that's a labour of love to do it so enthusiastically and consistently for so long.
Your posts are always enjoyable to read and well considered. You are an important part of what makes this forum the great place that it is, and long may that continue.

Thank you Joe, Steve and everyone for your very kind words. I am deeply touched that you hold me in such great esteme. Joe - I hadn't realised that I've been posting here for five years!  As Hayley would say "Gosh!". For my part, I have enjoyed every minute. It's great to know that like minded people around the world are waiting for reports and pictures after a concert and that I, along with many others here, are able to support each other in that way. I always tell new members that we are a friendly bunch of people at HWI and I believe that with all my heart. Thanks again my friends for your very good wishes. I love you all. Grant |

Perhaps I should add a special word of thanks for all those wonderful photos of our beautiful princess. You might think you couldn't go wrong with such a photogenic subject, but believe you me there is many a slip that a photographer can make. So thank you again Grant.
