Hi NL, I checked the GMA website. No information yet, but it is continually being updated. They do have an article on organ donation however. Gene

Dear Northern Lights.
I am sure that more than those who have posted here are sending a wave of empathy in her direction, praying to support not only your friend Lia (who seems a lovely person to know) but her father Orazio. Also you and her other friends and the doctors who carry the burden of selecting who should be next. That decision of course is NOT entirely in their hands, it depends upon what is available, where, in what condition and heartbreakingly those factors may be more decisive than who should be most deservingly next.
Apart from car accidents we are not accustomed, as previous ages have been, to the death of young people. However, cancer is another factor that takes young lives so meanly.
The implication here is that Lia does not have a mother and were the worse to happen her father will be left alone. These are very difficult times for all concerned near and far. It makes us all stop and be thankful that our own troubles are no more than they are, realising that despite our own pain we still have something, if only our love, to offer someone else worse off than anyone can imagine, unless they have themselves been there, if only as the friend you are now.
If your sense of deja vu helps you, you may still feel helpless It is your friend you wish to help but we never know from whence our help may come and if not for your friend you may be able to help someone else in another time. It prompts me to make the decision I have not yet got round to making and that is to ensure (if in a sufficiently fit condition) I have made the necessary arrangements so my own body can be used the moment I have no use for it. This may be a good time for us all to think on such matters Two people can be given sight and perhaps as many as six people given the life your friend is now hoping for.
Love to you all. Peter S.

I hope Lia's story on Good Morning America will help to to raise awareness in the community. I saw many young girls at church this morning and I was reminded of Lia's situation. I pray for a better week for her.

She does have a mother. I have no clue why it would imply why she doesn't.
The deja vu calms me, yet I still wish I knew if I could do anything for her what it would be, you know, that sorta stuff.
If and when she gets better, I'm going to tell her about all the support she had from members of HWI and other forums. I'm sure she'll be delighted.

Hugs, Joe When she gets back and I tell her what countries people aware and praying for her were from, she'll be shocked. I couldn't have let people all over the earth know about her sad story if the members weren't there to listen. So maybe I'm being modest. This really has changed me. Thanks Joe for your support! (& everyone else too!)

Thank you Northern Lights. It was just the way the article reported, the father quoting only his wishes for himself and Lia rather than both parents and the article concentrating only upon Lia and her father it seemed odd it did jt take in the detail of the whole family. Does she have any sisters and brothers? It may have been due to crass last-minute editing.
