Hi all, I know some of you like this beautiful sport, but how many of you are following the Goteborg's World Championship this days on air? Today was the lady's short program and the pairs final. Tomorrow we'll have a new lady world champion.. can't wait to see who will be. I know I have to support Carolina (in 1st place) but I like Kimmie Meissner and Yu-Na Kim much more.. too bad they're 9th and 5th after the short.. Hope Yu-Na can do a miracle.. Emil

For us in the UK, Emil, it is day-time viewing. However, the subject has been of interest to me since Torvill and Dean were still amateurs.
We have just concluded a series of a dozen episodes of TandD spending a week teaching celebrity novices different routines until all but three had bee eliminated. Each week was a new routine first demonstrated by TandD. I think this last series was the third. Each series ended with the two finalists working out their interpretation of TandD's Bolero, first performed each time by TandD.
As you can imagine it is a fantastic series. I am sure each year there is an accumulative DVD.

Wow Peter, You'll talking about two legends of figure skating. The best ice dancers of all time I saw some episodes of their Dancing on Ice show two years ago on the italian television but unfortunatelly, it was axed after the first series. I didn't know it was on air in the UK, now I'll look forward for the next series next year on SKY. I have no doubt about its spectacularity. Thanks for the good news, Emil

I know I'm way behind on this topic, but I didn't see it before.
Yes, I watched the entire coverage of the World's, as always. I was most interested in the men's event, and was very glad that Johnny Weir finally got a medal, and he didn't fall! He didn't land a quad perfectly, though. I also like ice dancing. I was excited to see the younger U.S. team, Meryl Davis & Charlie White. They only got 6th, but that's pretty good for their 2nd trip!
I have to say, I'm less interested in the ladies' event as I used to be. My favorite was Sasha Cohen, but she hasn't done anything competitive since the end of the 2006 season. I'm afraid she may never return, although she has said numerous times she would like to go for the next Olympics. If she does, that means she has to compete in the Nationals and Worlds in 2009, or she has no chance to qualify. I have my doubts that she could handle the competition of the young Asian jumpers.
