Hello everybody! Today is 29th February, so I can't resist asking a trivial question about a famous composer who was born on this day. How old was Rossini on his second birthday? It may or may not be a trick question. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Wrong! If nobody comes up with the right answer over the weekend, I'll reveal all on Monday. I can't make up my mind what the prize should be. It might be a Thieving Magpie's nest, or a short back and sides from the Barber of Seville. I know, it'll be the core from William Tell's apple! Richard

Well done Paddy! Rossini was born on 29th February 1792. A lot of people seem to have forgotten that a round century year is only a leap year if it is divisible by 400. This means that 1800 was not a leap year, so Rossini's second birthday was 29th February 1804, when he was twelve. 1900 wasn't a leap year either, but 2000 was, so although Rossini is 216 years old, today is only his 52nd birthday! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Richard

I had not realised until your question this was a leap year! Peter S.

I presume, Richard, it was to me you were saying 'wrong'? What, no other takers?
Peter S.
Okay, I've since caught up!

Not sure if it's right but, years ago, somebody jokingly told me I'd love it (because I really love both pizza and egg mayonnaise). That's as much as I know, I'm afraid. Ciao! Paddy

Hi Paddy, You did it! Tomatoes, egg and mayonnaise! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnd I'm sure you'll possibly love it, it's very.. particular. The bad thing is that some young people connect Rossini's name to a pizza instead of a great composer.. I'm serious Emil

Nice seperately but I didn't really think they'd go together. Paddy
