Hello everyone This is a plea for help from our UK based members! (Sorry! but you must be a British citizen or resident!) Some of you may be aware that I am, and have been for about 30 years, involved with Derby Playhouse as a member of the volunteer front of house staff. Over the past couple of years, adjacent building work and an unsupportive City Council, has seriously disrupted attendance to the extent that, just before Christmas, we went into Administration. Strenuous background efforts and a very supportive cast of performers has ensured that our Christmas show "Treasure Island" has been able to continue. However, the theatre's future still hangs in the balance. Theatre management are working on a financial rescue package but they are asking for public support. I would very much appreciate your help to keep live theatre in Derby by signing a petition to the Prime Minister HEREThank you for your support. Best wishes Grant

Hello everyone This is a plea for help from our UK based members! (Sorry! but you must be a British citizen or resident!) Thank you for your support. Best wishes Grant Hi Grant! I hope your playhouse survives. Out of curiosity, I looked it up on the net. I was very impressed by the number, calibre and variety of the shows (both dramatic and musical) presented there over the years. It would be a shame to lose it all. Any chance of finding a patron (business, royalty, media star, etc.)? Sorry, I can't sign your petition, not being 'of the realm'. Best wishes, Paddy

Hi Grant,
I have just signed the petition, it is very sad to see that something like this may be closing down and I hope that you are able to find a way to keep it open.
Best of luck with the campaign

Hi Grant! I would like to sign the petition but they ask for an UK address ... very tricky. Good luck with your campaign. I hope everything will turn out fine in the end for the Playhouse. I could use my German address and say I'm an expatriate. But I don't want to ruin the petition by cheating. Best wishes and good luck, Thomas

Grant,
Of course I've signed it! I might want to go there someday, only 30 miles away! I'll ask my brother to do so as well. I'm sure he will be sympathetic since he is a director of the Stockport Garrick!
