Hi everyone, We took our little Rachel (younger son's 5 year old girl) to Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo last Thursday & of course my camera was with me. Since Taronga Park occupies high ground overlooking Sydney Harbour it is very scenic of itself & even if some of the animals are similar to London's Zoo, the backdrops won't be. So, here goes....enjoy....Graeme.... Rachel with "pet " giraffe who she named 'Natasha' immediately. And Marianne loaded with supplies.

It did not take us long to get to the Meerkats. Once there how can you leave?? I think that's what this little guy was saying. I listened around the other people nearby & I lost count the number of times the word "cute" was used.

Hi Graeme (and Marianne)... Great photos of the Sydney skyline as seen from the zoo. I like the pic of the meerkat. Little Rachel may have wanted to trade in her cuddly giraffe after she spotted the little guy I'll have some photos later today...I was at a marathon and Woodstock on Sunday Cheers, Joe

Zebras are a beautiful animal & don't look dangerous do they? The croc here does look dangerous tho.I was told a couple of years ago that the 2 animals accounting for the most human lives per year on the African Continent were: Zebras & Hippos

Variations of this view greet you as you walk around from one animal space to the other. The suspension bridge towers visible in the centre belong to the ANZAC Bridge. The other Sydney Icons I don't need to mention. Graeme PS Just in case : ANZAC stands for Australian NZ Army Corps & has been used since WW1

Hi Graeme What absolutely supurb photos They really make me want to visit Sydney - it looks wonderful. Some of the views, particularly the one with the opera house in the background are stunning. Your little grandaughter, Rachel, is just so sweet - I love the pic of her with her cuddly giraffe Thanks for sharing Best wishes Mark

Hi Graeme and Marianne! Looks like you all had a great day at the zoo. So many animals to discover for Rachel. I love the meerkat picture. We have some in a zoo not far away from my home and they are so funny to watch. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThomas

Thanks Mark & Thomas, We did have a lovely day. This Canadian seal was being demonstrated by his (very nice) keeper. The point was that seals don't need masses of teeth as they swallow their fish whole. What a lovely animal. Graeme
