Well, I've said that maybe the last movie would be better for her, anyway, since the ending might be more emotional and memorable to people. Plus, several characters will be dying, so that will give the story more emotion and drama, which a singer like Hayley might be better-suited for. I'm just concerned the big battle will again be too masculine for a pretty singer, but then there will be plenty of elves involved, including at least one female one. One who will meet her end, not to spoil things for everybody, but it explains why she's not in the LOTR. So, the singer is Ed Sheeran. I think I've heard the name before, but I'm not familiar with his music. I just heard the song, I See Fire. It's kind of catchy, but a little slow and not very middle-earthy. His voice sounds good, but actually sounds a little too similar to Neil Finn's (who did Song of the Lonely Mountain in the previous movie). Apparently Peter's daughter, Katie Jackson (who you can see at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring as a little Hobbit girl), is the one who recommended this guy, and PJ liked him. They said the song was recorded only a couple weeks ago, and that Ed wrote the song right after he was shown the movie. He said they always let the singer see the movie first. So, Hayley will get to watch the movie before us next time. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Trying to be positive again. For the third and final time, I'm about to send my letter off to Howard Shore again, for all the good it'll do. This time a bit earlier than before, maybe that'll help. Here's the song: stevenfresco.com/post/66066340409/audio_player_iframe/steven/tumblr_mvrwwbyztm1qfk00n?audio_file=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tumblr.com%2Faudio_file%2Fsteven%2F66066340409%2Ftumblr_mvrwwbyztm1qfk00n&color=white

Hi, Usually pictures of Hayley, posing with well-known people, appear to me to have a degree of warmth to them, such as these: Kofi Annan- Dalai Lama- I don't find that in the next picture. (Arms straight down, and head tilted slightly away.) Howard Shore- Now, if it had appeared like the next picture, I believe that we would hear Hayley singing on The Hobbits for sure. Lionel Richie- BobS

I will be purchasing it from Barnes & Noble, since it's slightly cheaper, especially when I apply the next discount code, which I am awaiting.

I just saw the Desolation of Smaug yesterday! It's great, except it didn't end exactly where I expected it to. But at least now that tells me how the next movie will take up so much time, too. Believe me, no Tolkien movie is too long for me! Ever! The more hobbit, the better! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I must say, if one is expecting it to be exactly like the book, then they'll be disappointed, but for a Hollywood adaptation, it's great. Because when you think about how things happen in the book, translated into a movie scene, it might seem a little dull. But for real Tolkien/Hobbit fans, we wouldn't mind less exciting and more accuracy. But oh well, it is what it is. That one scene with Tauriel and Kili was a bit much... oh, more than one scene, actually. LOL I was a bit shocked at one of their conversations by the jail cells. I'm not sure such talk belongs in Middle Earth! In fact, I know it doesn't. But for Hollywood in general, it's nothing. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifOh, and I LOVE Thranduil! I'm obsessed with him! LOL There wasn't nearly enough of him, IMO. I was a bit disappointed with the spider scene. Way too short, and no "Attercop, attercop, won't you stop..." or "Lazy Lob and Crazy Cob". That was one of my favorite parts in the book! If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to watch for Peter Jackson and his daughter Katy right at the beginning of the movie. Peter himself is literally the first face to be seen in the movie. If I'm not mistaken, it's nearly identical to his cameo in Fellowship of the Ring. Looking forward to more Thranduil, more Smaug, and more Beorn in the next one! Because Beorn is sure something else in the book during the Battle of 5 armies! It should be even better on the big screen. I was originally expecting Smaug would meet his end in this movie, but I'm glad he'll be in the next one, as well, despite the wait. Oh, btw, as was the case with Song of the Lonely Mountain last year, I finally warmed to the theme song, I See Fire, when I heard it playing in the theater. I think computer speakers don't quite do the songs justice, because they sound way better in the theater, or on your stereo, for that matter. I still like Song of the LM better, and of course, nothing will ever compare to May it Be or Into the West. And I finally got a discount code for 25% off, so the soundtrack is on its way!

I guess it's safe to say you enjoyed it, then? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif I'm hoping to see it again soon, too... this time with my sister, who has still not seen it yet. She's just too busy right now.

I just saw it last night. I'm just reserving judgment until I've seen all three movies.

I just saw it last night. I'm just reserving judgment until I've seen all three movies. Fair enough. As with the last movie, I felt like this one was still just gearing up for the final climax. They're still on their way there, still haven't found the Arkenstone (or have they?), and Smaug came out, but hasn't been killed yet. However, the starting out stuff in the first movie was a lot more fun, I think. And Bombur was very funny, even though he (inaccurately) doesn't ever speak. I hope they make him talk in the next one. There's one more scene from the book they could have done with him, though it's not nearly as entertaining as the one(s) they could have put in this one.

The first trailer for the last movie, The Battle of Five Armies, is finally out today!! www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=705705326131742Is it December yet? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAnd I wonder why it's out on a Wednesday this time, instead of Friday? What would be so bad about it being out on the 19th? Maybe because some other huge movie might come out that Friday, and they don't want it to compete the first night? But most people would probably wait till the weekend anyway, although it's the weekend right before Christmas. There should be another, bigger trailer in October. This was just a "teaser trailer", but it was enough to keep me happy for now!

Announcement, folks: It's ALL over! The singer for the Battle of the Five Armies is Billy Boyd, who played Pippin in the LOTR. He is the one who sang during the Return of the King (a song within the story, not the theme song). I am not sad about this choice, as Billy Boyd is a very good singer. He even has his own band called the Beecakes. He's actually a wonderful choice on the producers' part, because of his former role in the films. I'm actually quite surprised and pleased they chose him as opposed to another "regular" singer, at least since it couldn't be Hayley after all. Especially after the choice of Ed Sheerhan last time. He's not a bad singer, mind you, but his style was all wrong. I actually can't wait to hear Billy Boyd's song, which I saw is called The Last Goodbye. I'm still wondering about the song that Bilbo sang at the end of the book, though. The Road goes ever on and on, or something like that. And this goes with the all-male singer theory that fans have had since they first chose Neil Finn for the first one. Again, since it couldn't be Hayley, I am glad it's Billy Boyd. Here's the trailer for the movie, which uses Pippin's Song: However, I'm not getting sound from youtube today, but my music on my computer works fine!

Well, you tried Libby. Well done. But it wasn't to be. Hayley seems to be very unlucky where films are concerned. The New World was a huge injustice that perhaps robbed her of an Oscar. There is a lot of Hayley using her voice as a musical instrument in that. And that is something I love to listen to. I'm not sure I have ever heard any singer who can do that as well as Hayley.
