Pokarekare Ana (Come Back to Me) at WindowsMedia.com - special US version?
Quite a few recent messages in Hayley's official site guestbook referred to an audio download of "Pokarekare Ana" on windowsmedia.com, so I thought I'd have a listen. As this download/stream is only available on the US version of windowsmedia.com - I had to use the special link below.
The song has been remixed similarly to the new Pokarekare Ana video - and some of the maori lyrics have been replaced - twice - by "Come Back to Me" in English. So THAT's why they altered the title!
The English bits certainly change the impact of the song - and if this IS the "US" version of the song, it could be a master stroke i.e. for some people, it may add to the initial impact. It really was a surprise, after all that Maori I've been used to! Some "Purists" might not like it, though...
Although it took me a few tries to connect, you can play it from the US version of windowsmedia.com - I wonder what everyone thinks? For myself, I could still listen to it all day! (US guys, is it the same version as on the Barnes & Noble demo CD?).
