A meteor that sped across the sky above Canterbury yesterday was probably no bigger than a basketball.... It must have been in recognition of Hayley's *meteoric* rise! Well, someone had to say it! Roger Perhaps it was Hayley advising us she had arrived in London Rodders

Yeah your right Richard,it was a Boom Boom According to newsmedia reports there has been some bits and peices found from what some people are claiming as part of whatever it was that entered the atmosphere. There could be other bits lying around the district yet to be discovered, no doubt we will hear about it in due course I was on duty driving a bus when the big bang sounded,I knew it wasn't the bus as I was stationary at the time i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIf your interested here is the company that I work for:- www.redbus.co.nz Cheers, Rodders

Wow! This is the first that I heard of this meteor . Fancy Rodders hearing the sonic boom!
Here's something...take a good-sized magnet and drag it across the pavement or roof-top. Not in the street though ...you'll get all rubbish.
Very interesting, this. Thanks for sharing, Belinda!

Hello Rodders! I was very interested to see your web site, because most of the buses here in London are red too. That explains why I thought I saw a London bus in Christchurch during one of the documentaries on Hayley's DVD! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifIf fragments of the meteor have been found on the ground, it should now be called a meteorite. I hope nobody was hurt when it landed! Best Wishes from London and its red buses! Richard

Hi Richard you may have seen a london double decker bus i know there are a couple they use for tours. Joe i think half of Christchuch heard it ,re the sonic boom,it was rather loud. i had the lounge window open the one we saw the man in black from, i thought it was the neighbours and got up and shut the window and mutted something about the neighbours, who me yip :2fun: the budgie did not think much of the noise and flapped around, he was right near the window. a very eventful month so far.wonder what October will bring.

Hello Belinda! It's a single-decker red bus that appears briefly on Hayley's DVD, but we do have some very similar ones here in London. Perhaps that's why Hayley feels at home here! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes, Richard

Hi Richard, All our buses are single decker apart from the ones i mentioned for touring, Maybe our buses originate from the same place. Give her a beach and green open spaces and she'll feel at home i don't think its the buses

Hi Belinda !
I remember seeing a TV property show where they said a lot of houses in NZ are made of wood and have no central heating. Is that true ? They also said you could buy a house for around £60000 which sounds a bargain. I might move down there ! Trouble is, Hayley does most of her shows over here !!
All the best from the UK.

Hi Jeff, Jeff said Trouble is, Hayley does most of her shows over here !! Tell me about it.
Houses are quite reasonable compared to Britain, and from what i saw in the UK they like grey stone alot, over here most houses are seperate on a large section with garages. Can be stone or wood depends what you like and a lot of houses have heat pumps these days,And have 3 0r 4 bedrooms. Theres a nice house for sale in Westenra Terrace will find the link. which is in one of the nicer areas of town. Anyone coming here will notice the lack of people on the footpaths, you could be walking by yourself not beside hundreds. Jeff why dont you "come on down," when Hayley next tours Nz there are a few hoping to make the trip.

New Zealand is one of the first countries in the world to see the dawn. Local time is 12 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and daylight saving Time (summer time) in New Zealand runs from 2am on the first Sunday in October to 2am on the third Sunday in March. During this period clocks go forward one hour. Belinda

Hi All, Some of you might find this interesting. These 2 maps, both from the University of Texas library & linked up to that site are to the same scale as displayed here. (not on the original maps tho. I've merely worked out display size to achieve this.) This means that you can directly visually compare the 2 countries. I've wanted to do this for some time so there you go. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Didn't realise NZ was so big did you ??!!! enjoy...... Graemek
