Hi Stuart! This is a wonderful picture. =) I especially love how the path isn't centered. Might I make a suggestion about posting the photo since I can't edit your post. Oh Just kidding. I see you forgot to add the other brackets! I've done it for you and now for all to enjoy Stuart's Photo called "Never Saw Blue Like This"

Thank you for the lovely photograph of bluebells - at least spring has arrived! May I ask if it was taken locally to you? Thanks to Caite for supplying the closing tag! She doesn't get paid for this service, you know! Roger

Hi Caite, Roger
Thanks Caite for helping out with the technology. Steven showed me how to do it once but I forgot and he's never online when I want him!
Roger, the picture was taken in woods which are part of a nature reserve that I live adjacent to. Its not with the new DSLR camera but a compact digital.
There seem to be a number of forum members who enjoy photography. Maybe there's an idea for another competition? There could be two categories; pictures of Hayley and pictures named after songs she has sung. That would keep us busy!!

Hi Caite, Tashi and Stuart, What a good idea, another competition! I thought I would use my 250th post to add a recent picture I took on a Beach. Its good to see so many great photographs, I cant wait to get some good ones of Hayley at Wisley and Newmarket, it will still be light for both events so there will be opportunities for some great pics. Take care Steve H

Hi all, Congrats Steve Hayter on your 250th post! Thanks for the lovely pic of the beach! Here's two pics I'd like to share with everyone...the first was taken from my bedroom window...check out the rainbow near the first of two dozen wind turbines dotting my horizon... The second pic is my red maple tree in my woodland garden. You can see the samara (the maple's fruit, aka helicopters or keys) out before the leaves.

Just remember to add the [/IMG] at the very end and you'll be alright. I like the idea of a competiton, but later in the year. Let everyone have a nice chance to compile all sorts of photos from the summer. Ohh! Beach photos always capture my attention. I especially like the colors in this one. Which Beach? or is it just a Beach? Perhaps you can name the ocean/bay/lake? (just curious where such a neat sight is) Great photos Joe! I really love the pastels of the rainbow and the sharpness of the white turbine. Oh yes, the good old days of Helicopters. Very pretty ones, not like the brown ones we play with...er played with. The following photo I took at the lake (not sure the name...one of 11,000) in front of my dad's house in Northern Minnesota. Suprisingly it was November, there wasn't any snow and the lake wasn't forzen! <3 Caite

Hi Caite... I love that photo of the lake at sunset...that little glimpse of sun is reflected so delicately onto the water! Oh, congrats on your 100th post! Thanks very much for the wonderful job you've done on this forum! Hugs, Joe

Hi Joe.
Thank you! It's not actually sunset, but sunrise! (yes, I was up that early.) I have a couple other photos from this sunrise, but I don't like them nearly so much. I will post more photos from near my dad's house (it's very picturesque) eventually.

Hi Caite, This is my first contribution to the Photography thread, a few photos I took last week. The first one is the "Eiffel Tower" replica outside Paris Las Vegas and the second one was from Caesars Palace. The third one was from near my house. I only got my first digital camera few months ago so I'm still in the experimentation stage. Allen

We drove for half-an-hour down a dirt track road and waited in the dark for the sun to rise. The location? Monument Valley. One could so easily understand why early man worshipped the rising sun. Nothing can reproduce the emotion of the experience and I've never been tempted out of bed so early since. I'm not sure the photographs (up in the attic) would stand comparison with the excellent offerings made on this thread, it was a very basic camera and nearly forty years ago, but then, look at the equipment W D Griffith had to film Birth of a Nation! Certainly, this is a fascinating thread to which I hope to contribute when I finally (consideration now in hand) decide on a digital back for the lenses I have for my film SLR. My basic digital wasn't able to handle the decor of the Huddersfield Concert Hall which is why I didn't post anything in the end. This time I hope to have a back that will give me the range of my film SLR, up to 3200 ISO. Peter

Peter Hi Peter, if your SLR is by one of the big brand names, you may find that existing lenses can be used on their new digital SLR range (if they kept the same mount). That's certainly the case with my new Pentax and it goes up to 3200 ISO as well. 3200 is very grainy though. If you can do that, it may be less expensive than buying a digital back (though i haven't investigated). Cheers, Dave
