My family and I have been having a lot of fun lately debating different MPs players. We really want to get one, but according to reviews - iPods have poor battery life, scratch easily, freeze, and play only MP3 (no WMA) - Creative Zens tend to break after one year -Rio's and Samsung's are too small (I want a 20G player because I want to put my 77-CD audio Bible on it) So could anyone please help us out and tell us which one is worth getting? Or should I stick to my CD player? Thanks! Oksana

Hi Oksana, I recently purchased a Sandisk Sansa E140 (1GB, upgradable to 3GB) from Costco and it's small with decent 18hrs battery life (can always carry extra sets of AAA's). Since you want a 20GB model, guess it doesn't have enough storage space for you. Stay away from the Rio players. The product line is basically discontinued and the company no longer manufactures MP3 players. They did however offer the Rio Karma with 20-40GB HD... decent reviews from the owners, that is, until the HD dies after a few months. In terms of features and quality, you can take a look at the following players: iRiver H10: www.iriveramerica.com/prod/hd/iAudio X5 (or X5L): www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/x5/You can also find 20GB players from Sony's "Network Walkman" or Dell's DJ but I'm not too familiar with them. Personally, I'm not a fan of HD-based MP3 players since moving parts = prone to problems in general and they tend to be on the bulky side. Just make sure you don't go jogging (too often) with it Having said that, if you want high capacity MP3 players, you don't have too many choices. My advice is to buy from a reputable store with good return policy so you can return it if you don't like how it functions. The management system on some players can really drive people crazy i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAllen

Hi Allen! Thank you so much for your help! I've never heard of an iAudio before, and it looks like that might be a good one to go with. Thanks!

I have the i river and it's absolutely brilliant! As well as holding songs, it also has a radio and you can store photos and text documents aswell. It also has a recorder which allows you to record both external sound and songs from the radio! The battery lasts for about 18 hours. And it's also really light! I'd definitely recommend it!! Love Claire

Hi Oksana, I too have a 60 Gig I-Audio X5, It is great, I have the whole Hayley NZ DVD on there and all the media files from HWI and the Russell and Hayley MSN site, plus over 32,000 MP3's I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of buying an Ipod, they are in a different league. www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/x5/I am off to India in a couple of weeks with my Daughter, My I-Audio will keep me sane, and I can take a little bit of Hayley with me. Oh, I never thought a Mp3 player can have 60 Gigabyte. If I have one, I can put all of my songs there.
P.S. My computer died today. I am sure it can't be repaired. I am now using my brother's computer. I can't use it very often because my brother needs to use it too. I have bought a new one. So, before the new one arrives, I cannot visit the forum very often. But I will read the posts later.

Hello Raymond! I'm sorry to hear about your computer. I hope it didn't catch some sort of contagious disease from Roger's, which died over Easter. I'm definitely going to stick to the good old Internet Café, because if the computer dies in here I can move to another one, and it isn't my problem to get it fixed! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI hope your new computer arrives soon. To stay on topic, I've never even thought about an MP3 player. I do have a small pocket radio, but I hardly ever take it with me anywhere! Best Wishes from London, Richard

Hi Raymond and Richard,
I also have an iAudio like Steve's and I can recommend it. I convert all the TV appearances of Hayley to Avi files and I can watch and listen to them wherever I am. It is great for music and video clips. I have so many favourites and they are all there with me wherever I go.
Regards
Stuart
