The Classic FM website shows a different but equally stunning photograph of Hayley on the magazine cover: www.classicfm.com/index.cfm?nodeid=355I wonder if the final cover that hits the news stands will manage to get Hayley's age correct? Not only is there an article in the magazine about Hayley, there's also one about Katherine Jenkins - Hayley's supporting act in the forthcoming UK tour. All this good publicity can only be good for Hayley's record sales and concert ticket sales, here in the UK!

Instead of "A PLATINUM CD AT 17 ...", to be more accurate it should have read: "A DOUBLE PLATINUM CD AT 16..."

The full article is now available for all to read. It is a major item, taking six pages in the magazine, plus front cover and a photo from the index page. Also there is the page giving the classical chart for the month and, gues what! Pure is at no. 1 To view the article, go to Hayley Westenra International and click on the word "SCANS". Hope you enjoy the first major article of 2004 from the UK. Keith.

Hayley is featured in the "Classic FM Evening Concert" at 9pm this coming Tuesday, 24th February, in the UK. Two songs by Hayley will be played - acoustic guitar versions of Hine e Hine and Pokarekare Ana. These are different versions from the ones on the UK edition of "Pure" and - if they are the versions I think they are - will delight anyone who thinks the UK Album versions are over-orchestrated. Here is an extract from the programme: COVER STAR – Hayley WestenraTraditional: Hine e Hine Soprano – Hayley Westenra Guitar – Robbie McKintosh Traditional: Pokarekare Ana Soprano – Hayley Westenra Guitar – Robbie McKintosh Full details of Tuesday's Evening Concert are HERE.My tip for anyone who wants to record them: do NOT use Sky digital or Cable digital as the source as the sound quality there is sometimes very poor, due to over-compression and clipping. Tape it from a good quality FM Radio!

It was a pleasure to listen to Hayley's "acoustic guitar" versions of the two Maori songs from Pure, played uninterrupted in the Classic FM concert on Tuesday evening. Broadcast quality was good and Hayley's voice was shown at its best - with no orchestral backing - only Robbie McIntosh on guitar. He's been a session musician for many of the World's most famous pop singers over the years, so only the best accompaniment for Hayley. The presenter gave a nice introduction (albeit mispronouncing both song titles!) and included a potted biography of Hayley, before Hine e Hine and Pokarekare Ana were played back to back. The programme segment was concluded with full details of all Hayley's forthcoming UK concerts. And others listened to it too because Pure went up half a dozen places in Amazon's daily (classical) sales chart on Wednesday. If ONLY the mainstream (middle of the road) music stations like Radio 2 would also play Hayley's tracks, think what THAT would do for sales!
