Happy New Year Belinda. You beat me to the new year by 13 hours! Raymond, I think you must have come second in the race to the new year so my greetings go next to you.
Everyone else will have to wait for a few more hours!
Best wishes when the times comes to you all, Roger

Thanks Roger,
I remember a few years ago i was able to celebrate about 4 new Years. The New Zealand one , then i was talking to Paul Notary in Australia and watched the fireworks display by web cam. Then i spoke to Gerrit and then Keith as their New Years came in, in their Country's. That was a great year.

Happy New Year Belinda, what's 2006 like so far? I'm green with envy because you're going to see Hayley again in a few weeks. Some of us are probably going to have to wait until April! Never mind, I saw and met Hayley seven times in 2005, so I mustn't be too greedy! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif8.5 hours to 2006! :cake: Best Wishes from London, Richard

[glow=yellow,4,600]Happy New Year[/glow] to someone, and everyone!!! But I'm not sure if I can stay awake long enough to see in *your* New Year (it's 4:30 am here LOL), it all seems to have gone very well over here... and further East! Did you know, you can change the heading of this thread to make it include 'Happy New Year' if you like, someone! Cheers, Dave

Well, I guess somebody has to be last! We are now 13.5 hours into the New Year here in the UK. Looking from my window, it is pretty much the same as yesterday - dull, cold, inclined to rain. So nothing has changed! Best wishes to you all - that doesn't change either Roger

Back in the mid 80s, I wrote a song, the words of which are particularly appropriate at this time. I believe I posted it to the Yahoo group last year so my apologies to those of you who may have read it before..... PILGRIM OF THE YEAR TO COME Fallow fields of January Lie beneath the virgin snow. The bitter chill of February When summer was so long ago. Then the March winds blow around us From the north like frozen thorns. Frost is cleared by April showers As the Pilgrim of the Springtime dawns.
Blossoms in the fields of May; Azaleas bloom and orchids grow. A kaleidoscope of June’s displaying All of Mother Nature’s show. In July, we may regret The passing of Midsummer’s Day. But August is ablaze with fire As the Pilgrim passes on his way.
Cool September is a warning; Of the autumn, she’ll foretell. But, one fine October morning, Summer bids a last farewell. Cold November leaves are falling, Carpeting the woodland gold. Now December night is calling, For the Pilgrim has grown old.
Once again, the fields lie fallow, With raindrops beating like a drum. When Auld Lang Syne will stand to welcome The Pilgrim of the Year to Come. Happy New Year! Roger

Not bad, Roger, not bad at all. Alas, I haven't any poetry ready, and can't just bang it out the way some folks can, but a Happy 2006 to all. Anyone want to make predictions?
