Classic FM have this afternoon broadcast the top 30 selling albums of the year. Not surprisingly, Pure has come out in the No 1 position. Having been the best selling album of 2003, it is also currently the highest selling album for 2004.
Katherine Jenkins appeared at No 4 and Bryn Terfel at No 6.
Congratulations Hayley, from all of us.

Yes indeed, Classical number one in the UK again - so far in 2004. What's remarkable is that with this year's sales of Pure being around one-eighth of last year's sales, Hayley has so far managed to beat off all-comers again - including all the compilations and sound tracks they could throw at her. Lord of the Rings and all! Here is the full Classic FM top 100 for the year to date. Incidentally, they are getting very fussy these days, the number 15 album (Best Worship Songs) was removed before broadcast - presumably because it wasn't thought to be "classical" enough! Here is a link to the last 5 minutes of the show, including Hayley's reaction, and "In Trutina". Windows media, 48 kbps, 1.7MB - it's on my personal web pages so I'll remove it in a few days' time. HWI are welcome to publish it - if they want it!

Congratulations Hayley!! I'm glad that Classic FM have Hayley at number one as she surely deserves it. Wow, that's quite a list, what with those top movie soundtracks and all.

Congratulations Hayley!! I can think of no one who deserves to be No 1 more Let's see if we can keep her in the top 10 until the 1st Year Anniversary of Pure's release in the UK...and beyond! Kirsty xx
