[glow=red,2,300]PHANTOM OF THE OPERA[/glow] I LOVE this movie! The plot is really good and although they sing an awful lot all the songs fit perfectly with the story. My favorite character is the Prima Dona. Minnie Driver is such a good actress - she makes me go into fits of giggles! My favorite lines... Prima Dona: "'These things do happen?' Until you stop these things from happening, this thing does not happen!" Phantom: "Carlotta will play the pageboy... the role of the pageboy is silent which makes my casting in a word, IDEAL."

Hi Natasha, I am almost ashamed to admit that I have not seen the stage production or the film but I did used to have a double cassette which I rather liked. I can't remember why I haven't got it now! I had been wondering whether or not to buy the DVD and, if this discussion takes off in a big way, it may well persuade me to do so. So...... I might! Roger

Yep, I've seen the movie, and do I want to see it again? No!! I love this story, but this movie just wasn't anything special. Poor Emmy Rossum can barely sing on key! Her voice is so weak, it was just not right for her job. Roger, I would not recommend buying the movie, but renting it would probably be a good thing to do just to see it once.

Hello Natasha, Roger, Cathleen and Kimberly! I've never seen the stage show or the film, nor do I own any of the original cast recordings. I do like the way Hayley sings a couple of songs from it on her first Universal NZ CD, so I would definitely go to see the stage show if she was in it. I might go to see the film one day, but only if I'm bored! Bye for now, Richard

What an utter lack of enthusiasm from everyone on this subject, lol. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif In truth it's a brillant film from beginning to end. The cast is absolutely perfect. The first time I saw it I thought Emmy was horrible and was so dissapointed but it wasn't until about the second or third time that I realized how gorgeous Emmy's voice really is. I would definately suggest this movie to nearly everyone except for that little "incident" which makes the film like PG-13. Which I obviously, CANNOT approve of. But it's a great film - minus that one little thing. And it's better than the stage version because you can stop and fastforward or rewind as you will. So my advice ... get up and go see it! Natasha

Obviously all the voting that was going to take place has taken place on this poll and I thought I'd just stop it here. Thanks to the 5 people who responded to this poll...
[glow=red,2,300]POLL QUESTION[/glow] Have you seen the movie? [glow=red,2,300]POLL RESULTS[/glow] Sixty percent voted that they had seen the movie while forty perfect said they might. The answers "No" "I'm going to" "I might" and "I'm going to buy the VHS/DVD" received no votes at all.
