Insipred by the 'how international are we?' thread -- I'm curious as to what languages everyone speaks. Do you speak any fluently (other than English, of course)? Are you learning any? Do you wish you could learn any? Can you type something about Hayley in the languages you speak? Ciao, au revoir, and goodbye!

What an interesting topic, thanks someone! I don't speak any other language fluently. I do speak a form of English that they speak in the UK I've learnt Spanish from school...three years of it. I find that I'm much better at reading Spanish than speaking it. I'm quite good at shorthand! I took a course in Welsh on the BBC website. I'd like to learn Italian, as my mum fancies a holiday in Italy next year! Also I also am keen on learning more Irish Gaelic and Latin.

I can only speak English. Well, I can also speak bad English. So, does that count as two? I can read most languages, I just have no idea what it means. I think this is an opportune place to remind people of the rules of use for these forums. All messages must be in English. Well known words or phrases are acceptable, but that is all. Messages in any language other than English will be deleted because, to have them here is a violation of the ToS and the forum would be deleted by ProBoards. Keith.

Kia Ora! OK, I only really speak English, although I do have an O-level in French. I sometimes make up my own rhyming slang, but I can't put any of it on this Forum! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBye for now, Richard :je

I speak only two languages, English and Gibberish!
I learned some basic French and German at school and began to learn Portuguese subsequently but I have used none of them for years.
There was a time when I could say "goodbye" in 20 different languages, nineteen of which I have now forgotten!
So "goodbye" (for now anyway!)

She also studied French and German, I believe. I speak Ukrainian and English (both with an accent, as I've been here long enough to get a Canadian accent on my Ukrainian, but not long enough for the Ukrainian accent to wear off my English ). I'm learning French, but what I'd really love to learn is Italian. I know the basic sign language alphabet, and one of my biggest dreams is to be able to 'speak' ASL fluently.

Well obviously I speak english- I learn German at school and have done sine year 7, so that's like 4 years of German, before that I learnt basic Dutch and before that I learnt French at Infant school. I'm also going to be (hopefully) studying Italian at college next year.

HI everyone!
I speak English (American) and Spanish. I know the Queen's English Dialect and often use it in acting class. I can read French fairly well, and know quite a few important phrases in French, German and Italian. I know one or two phrases in Dutch and Japanese too. I know the sign language alphabet and am working on speaking ASL fluently.
This doesn't have to do with speaking languages, but I can lip read (only if they're speaking English. I'm working on lip reading Spanish).
